| | | Rowling & the Roald Dahl Museum The Daily Telegraph is today reporting that JKR may attend the grand opening of the Roald Dahl Museum on June 11th.
However, sources have confirmed that she currently has no plans to attend this opening. Quote:
Johnny Depp could be making an appearance at the long-awaited opening of the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Buckinghamshire on June 10. It's hoped that the star of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (which opens in July) will be joined by authors JK Rowling, Philip Pullman and Jacqueline Wilson, all of whom have contributed to the centre's all-important creative writing section. This will reveal all manner of juicy tidbits to aspiring young writers, such as the fact that it took Dahl seven attempts at James and the Giant Peach before he got it right - and that it was originally a cherry.
The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is located in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, England where he lived and wrote many of his famous pieces of work.

I think it'd be cool if she went but going so near to the HBP release could cause a media frenzy and she's still got little McKenzie to think of.

*jumps up and down excitedly* There's a Roald Dahl museum?! I can't wait for it to open. Roald Dahl's books were fantastic to read when I was younger, and still amazing to analyse at A-level. I'm curious as to what this 'creative writing' section is all about, too, and kudos to JKR for getting involved, even if she won't be at the opening.

| that's awesome! Roald Dahl brought this eccentric, magical buzz into kid's fiction that simply is just a wonder to read. his other, somewhat darker books, such as 'the minpins', are also beautiful pieces to read. it would be absolutely brilliant to go... |

That would be so much fun to go to the opening! Especially if Jo did go. Johnny Depp and JK Rowling in the same place would be a trip to die for. Wish I lived in England so I would have more of a chance of going to the museum someday.
