The rumours recently flying around about Cuaron "ditching" the school uniforms-robes, of course- are nothing but rubbish, as was the no Quidditch rumour. The only reason that the trio are wearing "muggle clothes" in the pictures released so far is becuase they are scenes in which the robes are not needed. The only questionable picture is the one with Hermione and Draco... My guess is that the producers changed that scene so that it happened on a weekend, thus, robes need not be worn. And fear not! I have even more proof that this rumour is RUBBISH... Months ago, a picture from the set of Hagrids Care of Magical Creatures class shows the trio walking offset in their robes! :sorcerer:  I dunno what hes doing about the robes, but I have seen pictures from this movie. I've seen both with and without robes, but most of the ones out do seem to be muggle clothes. As for Draco... hes hot no matter what... but I think it's an improvement if he keeps his hair down. Looks much better... That's my little opinion on this matter...  ;

In the books I always thought that wherever they are except Summertime and at the world cup they are always in their robes. In the books at the end when Harry finds out about Sirius and scabbers being peter they are wearing their robes.

Yes, yes! They do still have robes in the movie, but since it's the 3rd year, they go to Hogsmeade and you can't expect them to wear their uniforms on the weekend can you? Plus, the books never said anything about them having a uniform anyway, not that I'm complaining, I like them.
But the thing with Malfoy and Hermione; Malfoy being a Pureblood wizard and a Slytherin to boot, he should still be wearing robes, not school attire, but certainly NOT Muggle clothes. He's not even supposed to know about Muggle clothes...geez. I really don't know what to say about that either.
And to completely agree with the no-hair-gel thing for Draco, it's a good thing, but I don't think they should have his hair down the whole time. He is still Malfoy and he's supposed to have slicked back hair...
The new robes are cool too.
Go the TLC for more info about the pictures if there's still controversy going on...for all you skeptics!
Okay, sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself. I critique the movies because I'm more dedicated to the books. I love the movies though, it's just, they could be better. Don't hate me...too much...hehehe.

fhqwhads, there is no need for foul language...tsk tsk tsk
i no u guys no that there will be robes, im not only saying that! i am saying that once you are a teenager, you are more rebellious, and i am one too. And i no i wouldnt want to where a uniform 24/7...they didnt do that in the first two movies either...i no it wasnt "hip clothes" but like ive said before wen ur a teenager you get a fashion sense i guess u could say... and anyways, the whole clothes thing doesnt have to do with the plot either...WHO FRREAKING CARES IF THERE ARE SOME NORMAL CLTOHES PART OF THE TIME- ITS THE PLOT- DO YOU HEAR ME fhqwhads? THE PLOT THAT SHOULD MATTER TO YOU!!!! the clothes arent gonna be the whole movie. the reaosn we see so many picture with mugglecothes is becasue all the pictures weve seen are ones that are all during THE SAME SCENE!!! get it fhqwhads....if anyones a retard its YOU...seriously, try reading other posts. the muggle clothes are just Cuaron's idea of what they should wear on the weekends/after classes...ITS HIS INTERPRETATION...like i said-no one would wanna wear a uniform 24/7, and i think cuaron's idea is a great one. he is not replacing the robes- there are robes being worn during classes, which is the only time they need to be worn!!! now that they are teenagers they are just wearing other clothes. i no that that never happens in the books, BUT ITS CUARONS IDEA, AND ITS A GOOD ONE INDEED...JKR works on the movie too, and she wouldnt let an idea go by that isnt true to the books, so calm down everyone, cuz ur all annoying me!!! i dunno if u saw my newstory at www.iharrypotter.net but like i saidf there, i am ENORMOPULSY ANNYOED! > | |

Even if they are wearing muggle clothes in the movie, I will still go see it!
I won't judge a movie by the wardrobe, I'll judge it by its content. Besides,
JK never said that they wore uniforms under their robes, did she? In the chapter pictures in each book they are always wearing muggle clothes under their robes...Columbus did the whole uniform thing. Cuaron's just putting his own bit in, and I am ok with that as long as he doesn't ruin the movie, lol. :sorcerer: :sorcerer: :sorcerer: :sorcerer: :sorcerer:

I also think that if they have to take the clothes muggle, why Malfoy also takes it? he hate to the muggles? those scenes that we have seen I believe that they are of the movie, but because they will make scenes without tunics and without another thing? The new director will be for that reason different to the other director there are some things that they have changed, but I don´t know if the director had thought that Malfoy, according to its personality, he wouldn´t like him to take clothes muggle.
That is my opinion

oooo, piano that hurts. clothes on weekends are fine i just think the clothes they wear dont reflect their personalities. Hermione is somewhat of a nerd, how many nerds wear those clothes???? Harry is wearing clothes that fit, and i havent seen much of rons clothes but i would hope that they would be somewhat "raggedy" or cheap-looking.

I agree with everyone, well most of you. At first, I thought there were no robes and I admit, I was a bit upset. HOWEVER, upon seeing that the robes are still in the movie, I can relax. I recently rewatched the first two movies and the kids don't wear their uniforms all the time. For instance, when Harry, Ron and Hermione are going through the rooms to get the the Philosopher's/Sorceror's Stone, none of them are wearing robes. They are wearing ordinary clothing. Not necessarily "muggle" but not school uniforms. Another example is in the 2nd movie when Harry is using Riddle's diary... he's wearing khakis and a red sweater. Those are just two examples. I think it is perfectly fine for the kids to wear "hip" clothes when not in class or at dinner, where they always wear robes. And as someone else mentioned, JK never said they wore anything BUT regular/"muggle" clothes under their robes. That was something added in the movies. (Though it's a cute touch!) And Malfoy... his clothes aren't "hip" like Hermione, Harry or Ron's...they're simple, regular clothes, mostly black.
And about Tom's hair... I think he looks more sinister with it slicked back, but they were using a can of hair gel a day on him... isn't it enough that he already has to bleach his hair once a week? :-)

Hey, and on another note... go look at the picture again. When they are wearing robes, they are wearing uniforms underneath! So everybody can relax... he's not going way off from what Chris did. He's just adding his own flair to it.
