It is being reported that Rita Skeeter, played by Miranda Richardson in Goblet of Fire, will not be featured in Half-Blood Prince. Her character, although present in Order of the Phoenix, failed to make the film version and apparently won't be seen at Dumbledore's funeral in the sixth.

She didn't have a big role in the book, so it made the producers' decision easy. To cut or not to cut- that is always the question. Poor Miranda. She rocked!
Yeah, well they didn't bring her back in OoTP where she could be her ladybug self, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't bring her back

She played her role really well but it's not such a big part. Anyway, if she's only present at the funeral isn't it possible for them to just sort of give her a small appearance...maybe taking photos or telling her quill thing to write stuff down? It's not such a big loss anyway.
