| | |  Recovering Potter fan gets gifts from JK
Northampton Today reports that Lorna Dixon, 17, who is recovering from non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (a form of cancer), today received a visit from four Potter look-a-likes. She was also sent a range of presents from J.K.Rowling. Quote:
"Mum told me we were going to the hospital on the day so it was quite a surprise. I was overwhelmed. I really love the Harry Potter books and the films."

Charity workers had originally hoped to set up a meeting between Lorna and film star Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy.
This was not possible due to the actor's school commitments but the charity then called in the lookalikes.
They are still trying to organise a family trip to the premier of the new Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

The visit was courtesy of the national charity, When You Wish Upon A Star, which aims to make sick children's dreams come true.

that's really nice of them and JKR. I hope Lorna gets better. i'm sure she already must feel happy though after the gifts n stuff.

Oh my goodness.. my mum just told me she stumbled across this, I can't believe it, haha. I'm Lorna, the girl is me! So weird.. it feels like forever ago now!
Thank you for all the well-wishes! I had a fantastic day. The gifts were a Hedwig plushie, a 'Scarlet Hawk' broomstick and books 1-3 on audio, read by Stephen Fry. I still have other mementos from that day too, like a (now deflated) heart-shaped balloon Hagrid gave me, and a £5 note I had framed after it was used in a magic trick at dinner. And of course lots of photos! I remember having to pose for like half an hour with Harry's lips stuck to my cheek, haha. We didn't get to go to the premiere in the end, but my family and I did drive up to London the night it was on and stood outside, and I got the Phelps twins' autographs.
That was six years ago now, and (touch wood) it's never been back. It was actually Hodgkins, not non-Hodgkins, but regardless, I'm better now!
