A rare first edition copy of ' Philosopher's Stone' has been put up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of £19,500. Quote:
The item is described as: 'First edition, first issue. Original casebound state with pictorial boards.
'Only 300 were produced, with a large proportion of these going to libraries. This copy is probably the best you are ever likely to see. No faults whatsoever.
'Housed in a quarter red morocco solander box by The Chelsea Bindery, titles to spine gilt.
'Owning this book is like having treasure.'

Hmm....so what importance could this guy have to be put on the back cover? Although sometimes they just put really random things on the back, like the castle on my copy of COS.

*laughs* Well my edition though kept in a sacred box for now harm to come near it (and no one but me is allowed to touch them lol) my copy still wouldn't be in mint condition. *sighs* oh well onto the next money making scheme then...*toddles off, tripping over random coffee tables*

That's a right load of cash there. :O I could buy myself a Mini Cooper or Volkswagen Beetle for less than that, yikes. Still, guess it's worth it for a diehard HP fan.
