| | | Rumor: Ralph Fiennes in Voldemort Summary:
Rumor: Ralph Fiennes is in talks to play Lord Voldemort In GOF Article: The Daily Mail Newspaper is reporting the following.
Artical:
Award-winning actor Ralph Fiennes is in negotiations to play Harry Potter's arch nemesis Lord Voldemort.
If contracts can be agreed, Fiennes will play the ultimate practitioner of the Dark Arts in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, which began filming at 'Harry's home' over at Leavesden studios last month.
However, scenes involving Voldemort aren't scheduled to shoot until the end of the year, which would suit Fiennes as he is currently in Kenya filming The Constant Gardener opposite Rachel Weisz.
That picture is based on John le Carre's novel and is being directed by Fernando Meirelles.
After that, the classically trained thespian will join Natasha Richardson and Vanessa Redgrave in the Merchant Ivory film, The White Countess.
Voldemort is an evil force able to possess the minds of others and get them to do his bidding.
He is generally referred to in J.K. Rowling's books as He Who Must Not Be Named, or You Know Who for short, and has, until now, not been seen - unless you count the glimpse of a disfigured face poking out of the back of the ill-fated Professor Quirrell's head like an overgrown boil in the first film.
But Fiennes would be an inspired choice, presumably on the part of Goblet director Mike Newell and producer David Heyman. The actor has already demonstrated a nice line in evil in the films Red Dragon and Schindler's List.
Next year, he hopes to play Hamlet for director Adrian Noble.
A spokeswoman for the Harry Potter film series told me: "Oh, he'd be really good, but there's no one in place yet. Obviously, they are speaking to people, but that role has not yet been cast."
In any event, the deal for Fiennes to play Voldemort would be complex because it would mean him signing to do three films.
Apart from Hamlet, which isn't a done deal yet, he has other stage plans for next year and 2006.
Fiennes's representatives would not take my calls, of which there were many.
End Artical:
Here is a picture of him Please Note This Is Only A Rumor As Yes WB Have Said That They Have Not Cast Lord Voldemort. www.dailymail |

^ David Thewlis played Lupin. I think Ralph Fiennes looks devious . I wouldn't mind him playing You-Know-Who. yes, I am well aware of that. I should have made it clearer. Ralph Fiennes is how I imagioned Lupin. I wanted him to play Lupin. Therefore, if he were to play Voldemort, it would freak me out (like Lupin becoming Voldemort type thing)
and I agree, he is a bit young. they can do wonders with makeup, but still, isn't Voldemort supposed to be deathly skinny? how will they do that. hmmm

I agree with someone on the first page...If it isnt jeremy Irons Id like David Bowie to play Voldemort...he is spookie!!! and hot, but thats not what we are talking about.
I trust the casting director...*crosses fingers for Irons or Bowie*

I said from the first time, Jeremy Irons should play Lord Voldemort!!!, he is the best, and does such good bad guys. He was the villan in "Dungeons and Dragons" and "The Time Machine" (the only good thing that movie has). Oh! he also was the voice of Scar in "The Lion King". And he was...I cant remember his name...but the catholic Mosqueteer in "The Man in the Iron Mask" Just to show he can also play a good guy. I liked Ralph Fiennes in the Red Dragon and Maid in Manhattan. I also like Jeremy Irons. He's one of my favorite actors. I have a video of one of his old films, "M Butterfly". I think any one of them would make a good Lord Voldemort.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine
He may or may not be in the running, but WB has said they dont have a Voldeort yet so they're probably still deciding. I like Jeremy Irons and Patrick Stewart. I think Patrick has the face and persona for Voldemort.

well, i know that this isn't possible because he already has a part in the HP films, but i think that the guy who plays Lucius Malfoy would make a great Voldemort. i think that his name is Jason Isaacs? someone help me out here please. he just has that naturally evil look about him. i mean, if you look at him in The Patriot, you can really see what i'm talking about, and also he just looks like he would have the right facial qualities for Voldemort. |

he looks evil enough, and having seen Schindler's List, i'd say he'd play a good villain if he was cast.

Ooh! I knew he was the evil guy from 'Dungeons and Dragons' (and he was great in that movie!) but I had no idea he was the voice of Scar! I've never seen Ralph Fiennes act before, so he might be alright, but I reckon Jeremy Irons would be perfect as Voldemort!

i think i posted in a diff forum the last time about the rumors of ralph fiennes, but yesterday when i was taking a shower (the weirdest thoughts come to me when i take showers LOL) it came to me who ralph fiennes was-- it had been bugging me since i read it cuz the name sounded familiar and i didnt think to check online for who he was, but then i asked my dad if he was the guy in maid in manhattan. he said yes, and i said they might cast him as voldy and he said he could picture it. (my dad likes the HP movies too) i think he'd be a good voldemort.
