William Moseley, who plays Peter Pevensie in the current Narnia films, recently spoke to MTV about how he auditioned for the role of Harry Potter. Quote:
“I was up for Harry Potter way, way back,” remembered the 20-year-old. “But I don’t quite fit the bill, I think.”

“It would have been fun,” he said of “Potter” possibilities. “But I was thinking the other day, if I could have chosen one part for myself, I would have chosen Peter every single time. Mmmmm I love William Moseley. I didn't know he'd gone for the Harry Potter role... although it makes sense now. He would have been a great Harry, IMHO. But he's right, he's much, much better as Peter Pevensie. Too manly for Harry, methinks *snickers and hides*

Interesting...I dunno, I think that he would have made a good choice if Dan wasn't chosen...but now that I've seen Dan portray Potter, I couldn't think of anyone who would better fit the character...

there's a genuine earnestness in Mosely that is such an important characteristic of Peter Pevensie, which adds to a more convincing portrayal of the character. he's just perfect for Peter, i'm glad he got that role instead.
if there ever was a Narnian child who would've been a better Potter it would've been Skandar Keynes (who plays Edmund Pevensie).
