While promoting his new Holocaust-era film, Good, actor Jason Isaacs discussed his stance on (not) reading the final Harry Potter books, and his eagerness to play Lucius Malfoy in the films: Quote:
"I haven't read the last book, because I stopped reading the books when I started to feel upset that some of my favorite scenes weren't in the movies," he says with a chuckle. "I decided I'd read the last few books when the films are finished, so I wouldn't be badgering (producer) David (Heyman) by email all day going, 'Why isn't this bit in there with Lucius?' "

I totally understand what he's getting at. There's so many good little things (and, of course, big) that are in the books that we all love that just don't make the cut for the films. A bit sad, really. But it is quite challenging squeezing in 300+ paged books into a 2-3 hour film.

I can totally understand why he doesn't want to read the books 'til after the film. It is pretty hard when you see great scenes from the book being left out of the films.

That has logic...but it takes so much effort...I couldn't do that!!!, I began with the sixth one, then the seven....and then I bougth all the rest and started to read from the begining and repeat the 6th 4 times and the 7th 2 times!!!, I never get tired...but after the movies I always said...oh I wish that scene was in the movie....like hermione's tooth, ginny talking about why she went with neville to the ball, etc...how about that???
