Rumours surfaced in the past few weeks that Emma Watson might star in a fairytale retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast, and now director Guillermo del Toro, who would helm the project, confirmed that the Harry Potter actress is indeed being considered for the role... whenever it may go into production. Del Toro stated that it may take years for him to complete the final draft of the script, hopefully in time for Emma to still be the right choice for the role as Beauty/Belle. Quote:
"It's a movie that you have to make in the next few years for Emma to be perfect for the part," he said. "I think she is the perfect character to do that movie."

Given his current track records with films, I wouldn't hold my breath. The Hobbit he didn't direct probably because it was taking forever, his H.P. Lovecraft adaptation was too expensive, and I know there's another project of his that was stillborn as well.
But honestly, anything by him would be wonderful. I can only imagine what his beast would look like and seeing Emma Watson in a role like that would be amazing, I think they would make a beautiful film, so I'll keep my fingers crossed, but Hollywood is so dum ... here's hoping Kirstin Stewart's fairytale movie doesn't tank and put a kibosh on all the fairy stories in Hollywood limbo.

I totally agree with him..Emma is the perfect person to play Beauty..And he's a great director,I've seen his movies.Beauty and the Beast is the story that my mom used to read me when I was a baby.I really want Emma to accept this role.It'll be like,the perfect movie if she does and it's a totally different character from Hermione(I love Hermione)but I really want her to do it.Oh pleaseeeeeeeeee Emma accept the role  Seriously,I'm begging you
