A new set report has been written by a boy who was an extra during the filming of the Quidditch World Cup scenes for ' Goblet of Fire'. The report can be read here. Quote: |
The scene we were filming that day was for the opening scenes of the match between Ireland and Bulgaria. We were doing close ups of the stand in the World cup stadium.

I was to be seated next to Harry, Ron, Hermione, Mr. Weasley, Ginny, the twins and lots of others and we were all to cheer on our teams.

Some of us were really dressed up in cool gear. Jesters hats, faces painted and Bulgarian and Irish Quidditch tops.

To make sure all of us extra's didn't look at the cameras during filming they were hidden while we cheered on our teams. I had to follow a very small light darting around on a blue screen in front of me which represented one of my Quidditch team players.

Aw man, the more I read, the more I'm excited for GoF! It sounds so wounderful. But I have to wonder... I know there aren't any SPEW scenes, but without the empty seat with winky, how they gonna do Harry with no wand? I would think all that would be an important scene... I'm also surprised there are no Malfoys... not entirely an important scene, but nonetheless... it shows the tension between the Malfoys and the Weasleys and Harry, but also introduces Draco's mom...

| Read carefully. The kid says he didn't see a seat. That doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't one there. Same for the Malfoys. They might not have been filming that day. Just because this kid didn't see Isaacs/Felton doesn't they aren't in those scenes. After all, this extra only did one day.
Winky might not even feature since S.P.E.W doesn't.

Yes, which I know doesn't exactly imply that, but if you're an extra for that scene where a group of actors are getting together, why wouldn't you a) see the Malfoy's and b) see an empty seat for Winky? I would think - though I truly have no clue - that if you're an extra in a scene with a group of actors that would be around these people, you would see them... but I guess we'll see when the movie is done. | |
