| | | Prisoner of Azkaban becomes an in-flight movie - watch it on an aeroplane Summary:
A fan reports that Prisoner of Azkaban will become an in-flight movie at a Chicago airline. Article: Prisoner of Azkaban becomes an in-flight movie
An un-named fan has sent in this little comment to HPANA: Quote: "My husband, who flies weekly from Chicago to Orange County, CA on United Airlines, reports that the in-flight movie for Chicago to the West Coast for the first half of September will be Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban! Not bad... it'll be out of most theaters by then, and the DVD is months away.
And it's free (sort of)! No DVD extras though..." The in-flight detail page here also has a synopsis of the film on the September page - proving that this information is probably right.
Airlines frequently show new(er) movies that have just left the theaters but are not available elsewhere.

| Wow, that sounds great! There's only 1 cinema that's still showing PoA and it only has 1 showing left: tomorrow at 11 am. So I'm hoping they'll show PoA on flights here! Of course they won't. It's a great idea though, all the hardcore fans will be booking seats just so they can watch it. Lol! |

That's pretty cool. And if someone is in dire need of their PoA fill, and cannot wait another minute for the DVD, they would probably travel to Chicago. However, I am not one of these people, but that doesn't mean I'm not anxious for the DVD to come!

That's so great! Having seen some great films on long flights and some crappy ones too, this should be a good addition and maybe "convert" people to harry potter...

I have to admit I was slightly disappointed to see this article. I got really excited when I saw the title and thought I might get to see the film again on my flight in a couple weeks but, we're not flying United out of Chicago to CA. *pouts*

They pulled PoA out of every theater in my state, and I was wondering how I was going to survive until November - and finally there is a solution to my dilema. I'll pay $500 bucks for a plane ticket! ::rubs hands together in typical Evil Genius fashion::
Nah, just playing... it would be cool to watch it while flying.

I can go see it at the IMAX theatre near me anytime. Andit's about 490 dollars cheaper than going to Chicago. (assuming the airplane ticket is worth 500 dollars)
But I still can't wait until November. *bites her nails in anxiety* I can't wait! :o

omg!! i love flying! and i really wish i could take a United Flight from Chicago to CA! I could go from Providence to Chicago and then take that flight-wow that would be the best--too bad i won't be able to fly in September because i'm in stupid school--unless some kind of miracle happens and i get an audition. that would be the best flight ever! |

Ah! good old UA.
recent travellers will ba happy to know that UA fly to loads of places, so you wont miss out
hermioneg288,
you could try a MDW -NYC route. but it all depends on Aircraft type they use. say if you get stuck with a short haul aircraft such as a 737, A319/20. i think for US PTV's and in-fight entertainment come from a 757 and up. but im not to sure, ill check it all out for you.
