| | | Pre-Order your copy of Half-Blood Prince
As a follow-up to this news article by Emma, and since many many bookstores sold out of Order of the Phoenix (book 5) on release day, it is highly advisable for to pre-order your copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Amazon guarantees delivery ON release day, so you have no worries there.
Here are some links: UK Amazon.co.uk £9.99 (Free UK delivery on orders over £19) Play.com £11.99 (including free shipping to most countries in Europe) USA Amazon.com $17.99 (eligible for free shipping)
Barnes and Noble costs the same as Amazon and doesn't offer free shipping or a guarantee that I know of. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Cheers! |

I'm sort of wishing that I used my B&N gift card for the upcoming book, but I'm not traveling up to Fisherman's wharf anyway. My closest bookstore is Stonestown Borders, so I'm pretty sure I will preorder and pick-up from there (at the time of the release) instead.

But I may never know if I will be visiting Taiwan, my mom's home country, then. Do you think they will sell these English versions of HPB in Asian countries at the date of the release?

I pre-ordered from Amazon.com but be careful - my email confirmation says it's not going to be shipped until 7/20 and then I have to wait the delivery time on top of that. They say on their web site that they will guarantee you get it on the day of release "or shortly after" - their "shortly after" is longer than I would want it to be!!!

I pre-ordered mine too. But at my bookstore they have a huge party the night it comes out except a couple of hours before it is to officially come out. That is what i do b.c. you can only go if you have preordered and the sooner you pre-order it that means you will be first to get it. hehe

I dunno, it could be fun getting up at midnight to buy it at the store, but if they sell out i'd be ready to murder someone. If Amazon really is doing delivery on the day, I could easily preorder and get it cheap.

Having to wait for an english version (US, UK, whatever) released in Taiwan while in Taiwan, days after the release in the US would probably be disasterous for me because I might be driving my mom's relatives crazy by jumping up and down for me to get my hands on it. Then again, I'll have so much fun there that I wouldn't have noticed it had already come.
