Pottermore made a
major update this week, which included the removal of two significant aspects - the Insider blog, and comments throughout the site. More information on how members on the Harry Potter interactive site can get information and communicate can be read below.
Pottermore also noted that the chapters from
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be available 'not far away' from now, and that while it is the last installment of the series, it won't be the end of what's to be available on the site.

Why can’t I comment, update my status, or upload drawings on pottermore.com anymore?
A number of factors led to these decisions. As part of our ongoing review, we concluded that some features were no longer properly serving the interests of our users. Additionally, the Pottermore team found that it had become increasingly challenging to monitor and control comments, statuses and drawings. Ultimately, the privacy and security of our users are of paramount importance to us.
Why is the Pottermore Insider no longer accessible?
The Insider was a blog created by the Pottermore team to bring you the latest news and updates. We felt these updates would be better channelled in other ways in the future.
If the Insider is closed, where will we get updates about pottermore.com?
You can now access our Site Updates page for news about pottermore.com from the side bar on your homepage. You will also hear from us through owl notifications and if you’ve opted to receive them, we’ll also send you updates via email.
When will you tell us more about the new features that you are creating?
We’ll be keeping you posted in the coming months. Make sure you keep an eye on your owl notifications and check this Site Updates page to get regular news on our plans. If you have opted to receive emails from us, we will also update you when we have new features to release. We’re looking forward to sharing more about our plans with you soon.
What does J.K. Rowling think about these recent changes?
On a day-to-day basis J.K. Rowling entrusts the running of Pottermore to a dedicated management team. However, she was consulted about these changes and of course supports the decision to keep pottermore.com a safe and secure environment for everyone.
