| | |  Potter thief pleads 'Not Guilty'
Christopher Brown, 38, who was involved in the ' Half-Blood Prince' theft and shooting, appeared in court today and pleaded 'not guilty' to two charges. Quote:
Wearing a blue shirt and navy tie, Brown, of Tresham Street, Kettering, spoke only to confirm his name and address and enter the not guilty pleas to the two charges – one of “assisting in the detention or removal” of the stolen books and one of possession of an offensive weapon.
He was released on unconditional bail until August 8.
Aaron Lambert, 19, who was also involved in the incident, is due before Northampton Crown Court on October 10 accused of possessing an imitation firearm, a replica handgun, with intent to cause Mr Askill to fear unlawful violence.

I think it's an outrage for him to plead not guilty when probably all the evidence is there against him. Doesnt this mean if he is found guilty that he would probably have a harsher sentence.

lol. I doubt that they'll be able to get out of this one-they did steal a Harry Potter book after all. It's just interesting they plead not guilty when all of the evidence is against them...if they plead guilty they would get a lighter sentence.

If the Prosecuter won't make a deal, you might as well just plead Not Guilty. Besides, just cos he had it doesnt mean he stole it. Someone could have stolen it, given it to him, and then he tried to sell it. Yes, he'd have to KNOW it was stolen, and he could be charged with possession of stolen property, but a family member could have actually stolen it.

I am going to be very mad if they let these people go. I mean for goodness sakes it's completely obvious that they are guilty, and it's ridiculous that he would plead not guilty. How thick do you have to be to not see that they are guilty? Not to sound mean, but honestly.

Yes for hunting I think but they must be registered. All replica guns are banned now, parliament recently passed a law banning imitiation guns with the exception of water pistols. Lawful violence would be self-defence.
