| | | Potter star to replace Narnia actor?
Apparently Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) and Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) have both auditioned for the part of Aslan in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
It was announced this weekend that Brian Cox, the actor who was originally going to voice the character, could no longer fulfill his role as he lost some weight and his voice has changed.
No choice has been made yet for a replacement and the project is already in post-production.
Other actors who auditioned for the part include Sean Bean and Sir Ian McKellen. Dawn French (the fat lady in PoA) will also appear in the Narnia film, as the voice of Mrs Beaver.

Oh wow! Cool! Such a hard choice though...They all have very distinguished and strong voices, immediately recognizable and nice to listen to... Unfortunately it's been a loooooong time since I read that book, so the character is escaping me. Must do a re-read soon. What else have I to do while wating for HBP?

I hate to say it, seeing as I'm a huge Issac's fan, but I'd say Fiennes's voice would fit the character more. Although, out of the ones listed in the article/posting, I'd say Sir. McKellen would probably be the best fit - but that's my opinion
and I hope it's a better version then the ones that already out there.

But Aslan isn't meant to sound attractive/seductive!
The BBC min-series version was brilliant, the best making I've ever seen.

I dunno, I just can't see Isaac's as Aslan's voice. I'm too used to him being a bad guy (Malfoy in HP, Hook in the most recent Peter Pan, and the bad redcoat in Patriot w/ Mel Gibson) Never heard Fiennes, and I think McKellen would be good. *Just my humble opinions*

I *so* love this book, but Aslan should have a booming voice and neither Alan Rickman or Ralph Fiennes has that, so I'm going with Sir Ian McKellen. He'd be perfect.
