We
previously told you that
David Tennant (Barty Crouch Jnr) was to replace
Chris Eccleston in the next series of Doctor Who. David
spoke about his new role at the
TV BAFTA's which he
attended last night.
"I'm so nervous about playing the Doc. It's not sunk in yet.", said David. "Maybe I can be the first actor to wear a kilt for the part.", he joked.
He attended the awards show with
Sarah Parish, an actress he'd previously starred alongside, but dismissed any rumours of romance.
"She's got a cracking boyfriend already," he said. "Sarah's just a mate - there's nothing going on. She's giving me tips on how to deal with these sort of nights. It's all very new to me."

The Daily Mirror UPDATE:
Ananova are now reporting that David's to be paid half of what Chris Eccleston earned in the same role - around half of £600,000.
A source is quoted as saying, "There was some relief that Chris went as he was so expensive. The show was only going to be recommissioned if the costs were cut."
