| | | Potter star 'nervous' about new role
We previously told you that David Tennant (Barty Crouch Jnr) was to replace Chris Eccleston in the next series of Doctor Who. David spoke about his new role at the TV BAFTA's which he attended last night.
"I'm so nervous about playing the Doc. It's not sunk in yet.", said David. "Maybe I can be the first actor to wear a kilt for the part.", he joked.
He attended the awards show with Sarah Parish, an actress he'd previously starred alongside, but dismissed any rumours of romance.
"She's got a cracking boyfriend already," he said. "Sarah's just a mate - there's nothing going on. She's giving me tips on how to deal with these sort of nights. It's all very new to me."
A new picture of David at the TV BAFTA's can be seen below courtesy of CBBC Newsround. More pictures can be seen here.
Source: The Daily Mirror UPDATE: Ananova are now reporting that David's to be paid half of what Chris Eccleston earned in the same role - around half of £600,000.
A source is quoted as saying, "There was some relief that Chris went as he was so expensive. The show was only going to be recommissioned if the costs were cut." |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine The kilt idea for the Dr. was a joke! lol Although I certainly wouldn't object...
That's weird Kaz. I read he was going to get £500,000 which is £150,000 less than Eccleston. I think because he's more of a newbie to acting, his wage is lower. |

It's been going for dcades. The newer series with Eccleston will air later this year for you guys. The second series with David should air in the US at the very end of next year. |

| *giggle* My fiance wants me to allow him to wear a kilt. I said he can get one, but he has yet to do it. *grin* I think he's too scared to!
I think I'd be nervous of every new role too. I mean, it's like getting a new job or a new boss for the same job, isn't it? There's always that apprehention there. Atleast for me. But let me tell you, he's looking good in the kilt anyway! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine Even more apprehension because there are expectations as this is an institution. Imagine the pressure a new actor would have if they were to replace Dan Radcliffe - there's that exact same level of pressure on Tennant except for the fact that it's tradition for the Doctor to 'die' and reincarnate as someone else. |

This I actually knew, though I never watched it. My friend Gail in High School Loved the show, watched re-runs, dragged us to a sci-fi convention and had Peter Davison tell her to 'shut up' because she kept talking during Q&A - so funny!
Anyway David Tennant is looking good! I wish him luck and I will start watching the new series with Chris Eccleston later this year - Thanks Marcella!! |

Well. In my case, my brother encouraged me to watch it togrther about mid-eighties and I loved it. The funny thing is, as I found out some years ago, is that the actor I was watching, had the role before and after the time I was born!!!!!
And about that incident with Peter Davison. You are lucky that wasn't the actor who had the role bafore Davison. He has such a voice, such a presence, that I think he would scared you to death if he was angry with you for some reason. |

It'd be abnormal if he wasn't nervous. Even adults get nervous. Smarts and experience doesn't even come into it. |
