Gandalf, from Lord of the Rings, has been named the World's Best Magician in a poll conducted by Pearl & Dean, involving 3,000 movie-goers. Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore came in second and third place respectively. Quote:
Spokeswoman Kathryn Jacob said: "When it comes to movie wizards it seems the bigger the beard the better, and the teenage Harry Potter simply can't complete with the grizzled facial hair of Dumbledore and Gandalf.
"However, he's still a wizard in training, so maybe one day his facial hair will be just as spellbinding to cinema audiences."

I don't understand how Harry Potter is up there at all. He's shown relatively little extraordinary magical power and would rightly be stepped on by the likes of Merlin. The Wizard of Oz also wasn't a wizard, he was just a man hidden behind smoke and mirrors, literally. | |
