| | | Potter in National Geographic kids
The May 2005 issue of National Geographic Kids manages once again to squeeze in some tidbits for Potter fans. The Guinness World Records article on page 4 quotes some Potter numbers: Quote:
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth book in the HP series, holds the record for the most advance orders. Before the book hit stores, more than 5.3 million orders came in from around the world. In addition, a record 4.8 million copies of the book were printed for the first round of sales. And it was all done without a magic wand!
Then, in one of the games pages, Draco Malfoy manages to make the list of Famous Villains, in which readers must match villains with the heroes they battle.
Scans can be seen below:

That's nice. My friend had the issue where they spoke about POA movie...we don't get NatGeo magazines in my place...though I wish I had them...good magazine.

Very cool!! I've always loved National Geo! Quote:

This kind've surprised me because I thought for sure that OOTP did better? I guess not. I wonder what HBP is up to now, because it seems destined to set a new record!
It's pretty amusing to see Draco on the same page of villains as the Wicked Witch of the West and Dr. Evil! I'll get you my pretty, I mean Austin Powers, I mean Harry Potter!!!! - ...and your little dog too!!!

wow, so more orders came in than the books were printed? that's really magic... and all the people that just bought it without ordering... it's only logical, fo course. Potter's simply the best!

That's some good information there. I also thought that OoTP would get more than GoF but I guess it didn't.

I wonder if HBP can beat GoF's record for advanced pre-orders.
Thanks for the cool info! :sorcerer:
