On March the 3rd, the Independent Online Edition published a list of the Top 100 Fictional Characters, as chosen by some of Britain's top literary figures.
Among the chosen were Moby Dick, Tintin, and Paddington Bear.
Harry Potter and friends, however failed to make the list.
A week later, on March the 9th, an update was posted. It seemed quite a few readers had more suggestions, including Eeyore, Atticus Finch, and Jo March.
But again, members of the Potter universe failed to make the list.

How can that be?! JK has sold so many books, and her characters are loved by many. Frankly, I don't see how that could be possible. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Hagrid, Dumbledore, etc. are loved my many across the globe. *shakes head & sighs* Whatever. . . .

Well if that's true i would like to tell them that they failed. Satan worshippers? They would have to be insane to think that a book could make every body suddenly become satanists!

well if that IS why they didn't put it on the list then thats TOTALLY LUDACROUS!! I mean are they from 1684 (salem witch trials) or something? Also, a good character is a good character, Harry is a good character whether he fits the criteria of making people worship Satan or not.

^^If that doesn't say anything...okay, imagine you're a writer, toiling at your craft for years until twenty years later your book is published and then it's another ten years before you make a name for yourself...and here JKR gets world famous off her first book...I can understand where they're coming from, but petty jealousies aside Ron Weasley and Ginny at least should have made the list...*Ottery's grumpy* but it doesn't matter...in a hundred years they'll be dead, and HP will still be a classic...you'll see. Conspiracy, I call shinanigans on the list! HP has made just about every other list why not his one? gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I say we spam the internet online edition and make them see it our way  :
