Another interview from the Order of the Phoenix DVD Launch/Press Junket has emerged in which Dan Radcliffe, David Yates & Evanna Lynch, among others, discuss the revelation about Dumbledore's sexuality. Quote:
Radcliffe told BBC News: "JK Rowling is an incredibly intelligent woman. She can't have thought for a moment that that would go down well in the Bible Belt of America, but she put it brilliantly herself: 'He's my character - I can do what I want with him.' Which I think is fair enough."
David Yates and David Barron insisted that the news will not alter Michael Gambon's onscreen interpretation of the character. Yates revealed that Jo told him in September when at a Half-Blood Prince read-through. Quote:
"Jo leaned over to me and said: 'You know Dumbledore's gay don't you, David?' And I thought 'Wow that's pretty cool'."
Evanna mused on the notion of Dumbledore and Luna as a couple. Quote:
Evanna Lynch, who plays the part of eccentric student Luna Lovegood, said she had always thought that a younger Dumbledore would have made an ideal partner for Luna.
"If only Dumbledore was a 100 years younger they would be perfect, and I put that to JK Rowling," she said.
"But as we know now, that's never going to happen."
Order of the Phoenix is released today on DVD in the U.K.  | |

I could never see there being a "Mrs Dumbledore" so I think that it fits, it's also good for the director 'cause it means he can give Dumbledore another edge in the films. | |

 I love Evanna.
I have to say that I'm a little sick of the whole "Dumbledore is gay" thing. If it's not a big deal, if it doesn't matter, then stop talking about it! I think the media has blown this up bigger than it needed to be. It was a shock and big news for a week...now it's just getting old.

yeah people seriously need to get over the fact that Dumbledore was gay. that doesn't change the character at all and it's not like she even put it in the actual books that he was gay...even then, i wouldn't have cared.

Ahem....as a member of the "Bible Belt" I feel a bit offended by Dan's generalization. I will fully admit I'm not the most open minded person in the world, and I still don't agree with JKR's decision to out Dumbledore, but I'm not so close-minded about it that my brain is atropyhing. I oughta ask Dan to send back that St. Genesius medal I sent to him

Wow, I've never thought of it like that, Evanna. She makes me laugh.
And that's all I have to say. Dumbledore being gay is not big news, it doesn't matter, so I really don't feel like talking about it anymore.
