| | |  Potter actors nominated for 66th annual Golden Globe awards (UPDATED)
Nominations for the 66th annual Golden Globe awards were announced this morning, and several Harry Potter stars received recognition for their film work, including: Brendan Gleeson (Mad-Eye Moody) for In Bruges; Emma Thompson (Sybill Trelawney) for Last Chance Harvey; and Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort), with two nominations for his work in The Duchess and Bernard and Doris.
The awards will be given out in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 11th, 2009.
Congratulations to all those nominated!
UPDATE: Brendan Gleeson spoke briefly about getting the nomination: Quote:
Speaking by phone Thursday from London, Gleeson — recognized by many as Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody from the "Harry Potter" films — said he was surprised at his nomination and the attention to "In Bruges."
"It's a matter of total mystery to me how all of this happens," said Gleeson. "But it's absolutely fantastic that the film has a life."

As I've said before, the producers of HP always get the best British actors for the characters. Naturally, since HP is such a huge success, most of the British actors want to be included. Who wouldn't? Right? Congrats to all of them.

I know this is a bit off topic, but did anyone notice that Heath Ledger got a Golden Globe nom? And that was the only one for The Dark Knight!
