| | | PoA wins a Spacey Award
We previously told you that ' Prisoner of Azkaban' was nominated for three Spacey Awards. It won one prize at the awards show which was held last night.
PoA won the award for Favourite Movie, despite doubts that Spiderman would win instead. Quote:
Paul Gratton, vice-president and general manager of the Space channel, which produces the Spaceys, concedes Spidey was considered the favourite to win over Harry Potter.
"We thought it (Potter) might skew a bit younger than the average Space viewer, but at the end of the day . . . that one was a fairly tight race."
PoA lost out on the awards for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie and Best Movie SFX; the gongs instead both went to ' Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow'.

Yay! Go POA! It's great when you see such a great movie winning awards; that's to show people who think that HP is just a normal kiddie movie.

You know, I've not seen ' Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow' but it looks horrible. It would have to have a really good plot to ignore how stylized it is. It's like the movie makers found a new toy and overused it.
Anyway, I'm happy POA won for Favourite Movie, I was afraid Spidey would get it again (Spider Man won like 3 awards last night).
Slightly off topic: I totally geeked out when they did the tribute to Star Trek. Did anyone else watch that? Totally cool with the Klingons and the TNG uniforms. It's sad that there will not be any new Treks for a while but they finally have beat the dead horse into submission. I hope in about ten years they come out with a new series that is actually worthy of the Trek name.
Er... anyway... Go POA!

Yay PoA! *does the Ottery* I was just watching this last night... for like the hundreth time. Quote: PoA lost out on the awards for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie and Best Movie SFX; the gongs instead both went to 'Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow'. If science fiction and fantasy are two different genres, why do they always lump them together? Seriously annoying...
