PoA Review and confirmation on cameo appearance - Summary:
Mugglenet have confirmed Ian Brown is in PoA. Article: PoA Review and confirmation on cameo appearance
Mugglenet report that: Quote: Dennis, a Time Warner employee and a Harry Potter fan, saw a screening of HP3 this morning and wrote in to tell us what he thought. Click here to read his glowing, spoiler-free review.
He mentioned in his email that he's a huge Stone Roses fan, and despite reports to the contrary, he says Ian Brown does have a cameo in PoA. He is the first male wizard you see sitting at a table in the Leaky Cauldron breakfast scene. He was reading Stephen Hawking's book, "A Brief History of Time". Here is a quote from the review: Quote: No more kiddie stuff. The movie is very GOTHIC. Loads of atmosphere ... it almost seems as if Tim Burton might have directed it.
I liked the first two films - don't get me wrong ... but, I never felt that they were as good as they should have been. A lot of that I believe came from Chris Columbus' slick "Hollywood" style directing. I always thought that a director with more of an "Indie" film background would be better suited to direct these movies. Alfonso Cuaron delivers ... BIG TIME! Everything is better! The storytelling, the acting, the music and even the special effects.
The three principals have grown as actors ... none of their lines are the slightest bit forced or overdone ... every line is delivered in very natural way. Michael Gambon does a great job as Dumbledore ... very different from Richard Harris' soft spoken approach ... but, equally effective. Some people may be bothered by the Alfonso's re-imagining of Hogwarts, The Leaky Cauldron, the Hogwarts Express, Hagrid's Hut, Professor Flitwick (new younger look), etc. But not me ... I loved it. I think Alfonso got it all just right. The movie moves and keeps moving ... there are no slow exposition scenes .... everything that needs to be there is there ... no essential plot points are sacrificed.
This is the work of a truly great filmmaker. I can hardly wait to see it again. Source: Mugglenet |

Fantastic!!! Yes! Im so glad it's gothic, and darker..I hope :whisle: The next one will be darker ! ( gof is my fav book!) SO COOL. I really belive what he said about "slick hollywood" approach. But, I think people foget that when we are younger are emotions about death ect. dont really sink in that much, everything is brighter, happier, and sugar coated at times ( you have more sense of play) as you mature ( as harry does) the sense of reality digs in,( we have to remember that the films and books are still in harry's perspective) for harry I think the death of his parents and his own mortality began to sink in..espcaially In OOTP.
-not nessarily making him depressed but it's definetly teenage angst :sorcerer:
and the first film reflects that brighter tone, with color and music. We will have to see for ourself about Poa.

Just seeing the trailer told me all. The trailer looked so much better than the ones from the 1st and 2nd movie. The movie(as a goth) sounds really good. And how did they change flitwick, i find it pretty hard. And it sounds so cool as the way that he changed the set into the hogwarts he imagined, it adds some spice and mystery in the movie since we are so used to hogwarts in the first two movies. I wist Cuaron would direct another hp movie, i want this type of way that he directs the movie and such stuff to continue. The movies are not for kiddi fans, but for more mature ones now. I cannot wait to see how he directs hp and how much the set has changed, and how the movie is laid out.

Awesome! I think the third movie is going to be much better than the first two. Don't get me wrong, I loved the first two movies, but this one seems to finally look like the Harry Potter I had imagined in my head. It seems that Alfonso has done a great job. :sorcerer:
