| | | PoA DVD to be rated PG-13 in the US?
New information has come to light to suggest that the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD will hold a PG-13 rating in the US. This is odd because the film when it originally hit cinemas was a PG so the change could be down to whatever features have been added.
A new advert holding this new rating appeared in BJ's magazine. It also says that parents are "strongly cautioned."
It seems unlikely that a change like this would take place however Jamie Waylett (Crabbe) has mentioned in a previous interview that a DADA class scene was cut where Seamus faces the Boggart. It turns into a vampire and then, when the spell is performed, it transforms into a woman parading around in a bikini. It also supposedly featured a conga line that the children then joined.
That is, of course, assuming that deleted scene features on the DVD at all. Newsround has previously reported that only five deleted scenes will feature on the disks.

That's kinda dumb... although I could see why. Ah, well, I hope it isn't rated 12 in England... probably not. And shame on you Kloves you deserve to be sacked for mutilating the movies with useless rubbish!!!

is cloves a paedophile? Is he trying to attract young children into such explicit things? Shame on him, and the WB thingy for putting such an appauling thing into the movie. Yes, so it might be funny, but think of the children

i think it is funny, but for younger viewers it wouldnt be appropriate although i cant see any damage to their minds from watching it, its not like shes naked or anything. i think its okay if kloves wrote it as something reserved for the deleted scenes, but if he really meant for it to be in the movie thats bad.

I'm glad that the PG-13 rating may convince people that HP is not a child's book, but Kloves just makes me feel... urgh!

I think they should hire some one whos a Harry Potter fan to write, direct and act in the films. Theres alot of talented fans, that could do alot better job than that! For instance, they would know whats going on in the characters head and would have studied it so much they would know everything needed and everything not. To be honest i think JKR should be running this movie herself and employing the people she knows would do the book proud!
And JKR if you take this into acount, i wouldnt mind acting for you lol!

bethzc A congo line? In Harry Potter? *dies* What is the world of HP coming to? I'm telling you they should have had people who'd actually READ THE BOOKS direct the films, seriously.
I totally agree! I hate it that they change movies that come from books! but do you really think that a director would read the whole series? Well they should!

I find it particularly strange to have ratings variations because when HP first came out, it was a children's sort of book and it quickly jumped out of the genre. I mean, Scholastic IS a children and teens book publisher after all. In the US that is.
This will be interesting to see, considering how many children DO read the series. Imagine them asking their parents to see the movie only to find that it's PG-13 or R.
It will make parents wonder just what in the world their children are reading.
