| | | PoA DVD to be rated PG-13 in the US?
New information has come to light to suggest that the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD will hold a PG-13 rating in the US. This is odd because the film when it originally hit cinemas was a PG so the change could be down to whatever features have been added.
A new advert holding this new rating appeared in BJ's magazine. It also says that parents are "strongly cautioned."
It seems unlikely that a change like this would take place however Jamie Waylett (Crabbe) has mentioned in a previous interview that a DADA class scene was cut where Seamus faces the Boggart. It turns into a vampire and then, when the spell is performed, it transforms into a woman parading around in a bikini. It also supposedly featured a conga line that the children then joined.
That is, of course, assuming that deleted scene features on the DVD at all. Newsround has previously reported that only five deleted scenes will feature on the disks.

Well, I thought it should of had a PG-13 rating in the first place. I seems kind of stupid to change the DVD rating. Just leave it as it is a put a warning label on the DVD to parents.

| Harry Potter 3 = Pg13?
Why would they make the HP3 DVD PG-13? It wasn't that bad of a movie. It ROCKED! IO don't see why they would do that.

That doesn't make any sense unless there's something in the added scenes. I mean even a woman in a bikini shouldn't make it PG-13. Maybe someone says something during an interview or there's more to the deleted scenes than one thought. Who knows?

I thought it should have been PG-13, a lot of the mothers took their little children out halfway through the day of the premiere....
My friend got scared and she's 15. Shock factor with the dementors I guess.

i didn't think this movie would be PG-13, but i see how GoF would be, and maybe even R for OotP.

A congo line? In Harry Potter? *dies* What is the world of HP coming to? I'm telling you they should have had people who'd actually READ THE BOOKS direct the films, seriously.

That's very odd. Normally, when a DVD is released here, it retains it's original rating and issues a caution to parents that 'bonus material is unrated'. I don't see why they'd change the entire film's rating because of deleted scenes.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine
PG-13 will make it that more credible to the older audience which can only be a good thing but it is a strange time to change it.
Like others have said, GoF will almost certainly be PG-13 or 12A which is the equivalent in the UK.
The bikini thing sounds way tacky but they probably recognised that and that's why it wasn't there in the finished piece.
