| | |  Pirated OotP movie & DH book hit Cuba
It's been less than two months after the final Potter novel and the fifth movie were released, but pirate copies of both are readily available in Cuba. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix can be rented for prices as low as 25 cents, and it can be bought for around $2.50. The movie has been dubbed in Spanish, but as it is a pirated movie, the quality is poor. Deathly Hallows has also been available to download and buy, and can be seen printed on cheap copy paper.
The sales of the movie are doing well. Quote:
"I sell a dozen copies every day," said one hawker, who would not give his name
However, not everyone is going for the pirated book, as some are waiting for the official release date. Quote:
"I could barely sleep thinking about whether Harry lived or died," said a college student who started a Harry Potter fan club at her Havana high school back when the young wizard was just learning how to fly
The Spanish version of the book, titled Harry Potter y las Reliquias de la Muerte will not be released until early next year.

thats really annoying.. i wish people didnt do that.. its downgrading J.K. Rowling and her books by selling them for so cheap. People in London waited and waited for it to come out and their over there selling it for 2 dollars. really annoying. Anyways this is my first post ever! Yes.. i'm a newbie.. haha!

It's happening everywhere. I went to a greek island and loads of people were selling the film. And as for the book, isn't it much, much more fun to wait and go to a proper midnight release party instead of getting a cheap copy which probably has incorrect translation anyway!?

I think that's bad, but its unfair that people in foreign countries have to wait for ages when English speaking countries have read the book or watched the film ages ago. Why didn't they just do everything in one go?

i can see them pirating the movie, but the book? that's just ridiculus. they should dis-continue selling the pirated movie and book and if they dont, the police should be after them or somthing. that's just wrong.
