Persistant Voldemort casting rumors - Summary:
WB have clearly stated that no-one has yet been cast in the role of Lord Voldemort, but that does not stop more rumors from flying around the web daily. Article: Persistant Voldemort casting rumors Web India have written up a report on the Ralp Fiennes rumor, about him being cast as Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films, based on the report from the Daily Mail from June 25th when they claimed he was "in talks" for the role. They also tried to claim he was "all set" to start filming despite the fact that Warner Brothers stood by their claims and declared the part as of yet, uncast.
A spokesperson for the film 'Goblet of Fire', had this to say about the rumor: Quote: "Oh, he'd be really good, but there's no one in place yet. Obviously, they are speaking to people, but that role has not yet been cast," said a spokesperson for the film. Make of this what you will, but the guys over at TLC noted scathingly how Skeeter-like this rumor has become. In other words, all the business about Ralph Fiennes being in "talks" for the role of Lord Voldemort are most likely fabricated, therefore nothing should be believed in relation to the part until WB or some other official source comes forward and confirms something.

Ralph Fiennes with glowing red eyes? Yep I see it. If their filming GOF now shouldn't they have some idea as to who is going to play Voldy?

I can see Ralph Fiennes being Voldemort, but not completely...he seems too charmingly good looking to be so evil. I also read rumors of John Malkovich and I can see him being a good Voldemort...he seems so creepy like sometimes...

Hmm, I guess we'll have to wait and see for WB to say who's playing him...

That's what I thought too.. And didn't they say that they were through filming the graveyard scene anyways?

Um, I think the only scene they've filmed so far is the second task. Anyway, it's not necessary to cast Voldemort until near the end of filming. Look what happened with the casting of Trelawney. As for Fiennes, I think he'd be great.

I love Ralph Finnes, but I'm not so sure he'll be the best Voldemort. For starters his voice is deep, and he is handsome - isn't Voldemort supposed to be the oposite of that? If he is cast, he'll certainly act well... but I'd rather someone else got the role.
I'm so excited for the Graveyard scene, I think it'll probably be the best scene in the series yet.

I like Ralph Fiennes and all, but isn't he a bit too handsome to be Voldemort? (I know it's just a rumor) Tom Riddle is handsome, but I always imagined Voldemort as pale, flat nosed, and thin. Or is the hype behind the rumor due to his role in Red Dragon?

According to Dan they've done parts of task 1 and 2 and according to Tom Felton he's done a DADA class scene with Brendan Gleeson.

I'm really hoping that will not be the case, C'mon Fiennes, sign up for Merlin's sake - Don't you know how popular you would be?? |

I'd stand outside and start a picket line against it.

I imagine whoever plays Voldemorts his looks will probably be distorted by the make up department. Based on the way he is described in GOF, I doubt he's going to be very handsome. I wonder if they may end up with one actor playing the physcal role of Voldemort and another one doing the voice like Darth Vadar in Star Wars.
