Summary:
part of ootp is missing from the book i wonder why

Article:

WERE HAS IT GONE

Missing passage from OotP audio book

One lady who listens to the OotP audio book has found that a passage on page 519 of OotP is missing from the audio book version. However, a BBC spokesperson said that the tapes were changed at JK Rowling's request and still deserved the label "complete and unabridged". She also said that at the time of recording, Christopher Little (JKR's agent) asked the recording company to make some amendments to the audio book on the author's request.

Later on, a spokeswoman for Christopher Little described the omissions as "unsubstantial" and said: "The changes were made to later editions of the book. It is in fact quite usual in publishing a book of this size for minor changes to be made beyond the first edition, and should not detract at all from the reader's enjoyment."

Does anyone have the audio book that knows which passage has been missed out?

^Geraldine, the missing passage can be located at Mugglenet.com...
Well, mainly it just says that "Harry's still angry about something... People mainly talk about Death Eaters and Gryffindor's abysmal defeat from Hufflepuff... Slyth's always sing "Weasley is Our King" that Filch banned the song before sundown..."

I have the audio book, I'll check it out later, when I get a chance. Right now I'm at school, so I can't listen to my book while I'm looking at it. I'll report later.

P.S.- I'll be on as HarryPotterMoonGoddess. Right now I'm using my friend's account.

Calm down, amigos. If it was JK's choice to cut the passage out, then it must've not been that important. Don't wrongly think that perhaps it was some juicy secret or something. Jo has her audience in mind, obviously.

I agree it is her choise she wrote the book and only she has the right to complain anyway, and if they would have just left it out without her permission it would be most likely Jo would make a hassel
