| | | Our thoughts go to London
Early this morning explosions occured in and around central London, on both the underground and the roads. The attack involved 4 bombs which affected 7 areas around London. 37 people have died, 700 are injured.
Tony Blair, the Prime Minister, has made a statement condemning the incidents which he referred to as acts of terrorism. He will return to London; however the G8 leaders have all agreed that the Summit should continue in his absence. Mr Blair will return to Gleneagles later today.
Please stay safe.
If you're in London, stay where you are. Please don't contact the emergency services unless it's for a life threatening reason.
A hotline for people who are concerned about relatives is being set up; I will put up the number as soon as it's announced. EDIT: The emergency hotline has been announced. It is as follows: 0870 1566 344
The thoughts and prayers of all the staff are with those caught up in the disasters. |

An explosion at Kings Cross station and a double decker bus? Also, several others?
How could something like this go unnoticed.. wasn't there security at the Subway or anything...
I hope that nothing else happens... a few groups are claiming responsiblity including the al qaeda one... *scared*

Hope it turns out that this didn't kill or harm to many people, but it has made me wonder when these things will stop happening. You would think that these terrorist would realise that bombing and killing people achieves nothing but hate. Still, this will be in my prayers tonight.

There weren't any prior warnings, so the governement had no need to go and check everything out. Also, I hardly think that security would have stopped this. If terrorist want to bomb something, they will do it, no matter how secure the place is.

I wonder who the are the 2 deaths... *worried*

We spent time here. We made friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back. |

| In Love with Touz | | Lil Mikky-Mu I woke up to the news.
They are now reporting 12 dead with 180 seriously injured; of those 180, 120 have been released from hospital.
My thoughts and prayers go to all Londoners. Please stay safe, everyone.

I have been following CNN for the past few hours. It's terrible really, to see this again, after 9/11, which really shook the world terribly.
Numbers are not certain at this point of time, but the number of deaths have increased.
My condolences to those who have lost someone, please stay safe and strong.

That's odd. The BBC haven't announced any official figures. Several hundred wounded are in hospitals scattered around London. Quote:

It's confusing but Scotland Yard is saying 7. There are reports from 7. 6 in underground stations, one on a road.

Australian news are way behind - still reporting 12 deaths at 7 locations.
It's such a tragic event, especially at this time - a day after the news about the Olympics, and during the G8 summit.
I don't have any family or friends in London, but my thoughts are with the victims and their families over there.

The BBC hasn't given a count so I've no idea what the official figure is. Deaths are minimal though, that's the main feeling I'm getting from the news. Several hundred people are at hospital, mainly the walking injured although some are critical and a few are fatal.

There'll be news on casualties etc in around an hour, apparently.
