| | | Order of the Phoenix DVD press junket reports
A report has emerged from the Order of the Phoenix DVD press junket, held at Leavesden Studios, in which the writer describes the actors and sets in great detail. David Yates, Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Evanna Lynch, Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright, Katie Leung and Imelda Staunton were all present to be interviewed. Quote:
Dan is a hardcore cricket fan. Told me about a match on Thursday, couldn’t wait to pile into his buddy’s car and drive all night to get there.
I asked him why he hasn’t turned out like Britney Spears, he told me it was because he refused the offer of breast implants.
Above all, he is well mannered. So polite. Says please and thank you and what I will remember most: at one point, one of his handlers asked him if he needed a break. He said: “Yes, that would be great, if that’s alright with everyone?”
Quote:
I was wearing a black and grey striped tunic, black tights, and grey boots. Emma commented that “Canadians are always so smartly dressed”. I will love her forever.
She herself had just had her hair blown out, in jeans and flats under a black cotton blouse, well accessorised as she was before. She told me she’s been super busy with the new movie and catching up with her “homework”. Hee.
I asked her how she was going to avoid turning in to Britney Spears. She told me she doesn’t hang out on the scene, said England, even with its sometimes pervasive paparazzi presence, can shelter young celebrities better than her American counterparts. I also asked her how it was on set in the 6th movie with all the hook ups and the making out. She laughed, seemed to be relieved that she had little to do with “all the kissing”.
Footage from the interviews will be aired on eTalk etalk.ctv.ca beginning Monday November 12th.
Further to that, Emma Watson was interviewed by the Edmonton Sun and spoke about Dumbledore's outing. Quote:
"I couldn't believe what I was reading," Watson tells Sun Media about the negative backlash toward author J.K. Rowling. "This is the 21st century! I just could not believe the amount of fuss that was being made over Dumbledore being gay."
Quote:
"I never actually thought about it before but, when she said it, I thought, 'Oh, yeah, that makes sense.' "
Quote:
Now, however, 17-year-old Watson finds it "horrific" parents have proclaimed they will not let their children read the books or watch the movies.
"I find it so shocking ... Oh my goodness! Oh dear!"
The DVD will be released in the U.K. on Nov. 12th and in the U.S. on Dec. 11th. |

I found the writing to be a little odd, but...
I was actually turned off by the writer's description of Katie, Evanna, and Rupert. I understand wanting to give the audience a feel of how they are, but I found her comments about all three to be insulting.
According to her, Katie is: "Disappointingly a total Hello Kitty. And by all accounts, not terribly articulate."
Then there's Evanna, who is described as: "a space case....[She] speaks in a soft, lilting voice that isn’t so much soothing as it is a little annoying because it’s one thing to go around on film asking about nargles and entirely another to actually BE that person in real life."
I have to say that I can't help but feel upset for Rupert. To call him "highly underwhelming...a total dud" is unfair, in my opinion. I think the best thing about him is that he's layed back, kind of quiet, and, the best thing about him, humble. It shows that the fame doesn't have to go to his head the way that it does with others. For him to be the way he is is not a crime, nor should it be a "letdown." Like she, herself, even said, he's not rude or anything, he's just Rupert, and I find that so refreshing. Like Katie, to be uncomfortable in the spotlight...unlike in-your-face Dan...isn't a horrible thing. Seriously, when they bother to even mention Rupert, why does it have to be negative. Most people find him endearing and charming. %$*@($&@U$*@!!!
Don't mind me...I'm just spouting off.

^ It is understandable though. Admittedly the writer could have been less personal, but communication is key to conducting an interview.

But calling him "a dud," and then going on how Evanna is a "space case" and Katie "a total Hello Kitty?" To me, it was unprofessional and mean, quite frankly.

| Roro Numero Uno Hogwarts Rules! those interviews were hilarious. i just love Dan he seems like such a gentleman!!! and i love emma too but where rupert in all this?! well anywhoos im also really confused as to why some parents wont let their kids read or watch harry potter...i mean if they have a problem with gay people thats their problem but its not like they ever even mention them in the books OR the movies so i dont know what theyre trying to sheild their kids away from. and seriously it IS they 21st century people need to just start accepting people for who they are, its ridiculous! i think every celebrity's goal is not to end up like Britney Spears...

Shannon I wouldn't call them children. I dunno, I found it funny because I think the descriptions come from an honest place. Quote:

That's something I didn't expect, but flattering, nonetheless. Quote:

Bof, you shouldn't even bother... There can't be celebrities without someone bashing and gossiping about them left and right.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emerson Gray. Fourth Year | G1GGL3R! *giggles* My GarBear Great interviews. But it's still disturbing how parents aren't letting their children read the books or watch the movies now. The fact that Dumbledore was gay hasn't even been implied outright in any of the books! It's only now that the series has come to an end that she's told us. |

A fan wrote this on another site in regards to Rupert's articulation in interviews: Quote:
As a journalism student, I've been given one tip over and over again: Boring, repetitive questions get lousy answers. This is the fault of the journalists of course. They ask the same boring questions over and over again, so Rupert answers quickly because he's heard it all before. He's basically on autopilot.
It also doesn't help that almost no one can interview Rupert outside of a press junket/red carpet setting, where you only get to ask questions for 1 to 5 minutes, so the journalists run through all of the nicities first and miss out on the good questions.
Every once in a while, you see a creative question or a creative interview. Rupert's answers are fabulous! We just need to get some more creative journalists! I'll volunteer! :p
I'm studying journalism too, and she is so right. How many interesting things did she ask Rupert? I can't help but think that part of his boring answers were response to her boring, repetitive questions. Just a thought, but when you see other interviews with Rupert, he's hilarious and very outgoing!
Okay...I'm done now.
Shannon

After 7 years of doing the same series, I'd imagine it's extremely hard to think of a question they've never been asked before. I think Rupert needs to put himself out there a bit more, be a little assertive.
