| | | OotP open auditions 'unlikely' CBBC Newsround reports that it is 'unlikely' that there'll be any open auditions to find actors for the fifth film, ' Order of the Phoenix', which is sheduled to start casting in the Autumn and will start filming in January of 2006. Quote:
The script won't be finalised for months, so at the moment it's unclear whether characters like Luna Lovegood will make it into the movie.
Quote:
A spokesperson for Warner Bros. told CBBC Newsround: "We don't automatically do open casting calls."
"We only do them when it's particularly challenging to find the correct person for a particular part."
That's why open casting sessions were held for the Patil twins, and for Cho Chang.
It was very difficult finding young actresses with the right appearance through acting agencies.
Quote:
In the case of characters like Luna Lovegood or Michael Corner - if they're not cut from the film - it's almost certain they'd be filled without the need for open casting calls.
CBBC also have a picture of Henry Lloyd-Hughes, who will play Roger Davies in ' Goblet of Fire'. Roger is the Ravenclaw quidditch captain and takes Fleur Delacour, played by Clémence Poésy, to the Yule Ball.
The picture of him, which can be seen here is of him in the BBC TV drama, The Rotter's Club.

i hope they were just making an example of cutting people when they mentioned luna lovegood.... i mean, ootp wouldn't be anything without her!! hopefully they won't cut her, because she is way too important to be cut!! i love luna's character!
okay, i think they should defiantely have open auditions... i agree with a lot of you on here, they're not going to find new talent unless they really look! i'll be mad if they don't have auditions (not like i'm going to audition or anything), they're making a big mistake if they don't!
yeah, that person who plays roger davies does look like the guy who played tom riddle (can't really remember his name... christian coulson? idk) but yeah, christian(?) is a lot better looking than him.

I personally don`t care about that, but it`s horrible, because lots of people will be in tears, I guess.

Just because they're most likely not holding open auditions doesn't mean they're not really looking. They're simply stating the obvious; why open it to the public if you've found a professional actor who can do the job?

first. Luna is Jo's favourite charactor right? they would have to like convince her for ages to let her say yes to letting her charactor go. also she has some key scenes. like under the mistleto in the room of requirement? hello... haha almost kiss. and there is more. plus i like Luna! she is so much less wierd then everyone thinkjs(the upside-down newspaper that was upside-fown for answers for puzzles.) and her dad's magazine has Harry in it. well ne ways.... thats jus me

Well, this news is a bit disheartening... but I can easily send up my audition letter again in autumn, and "unlikely" is not a definite no. I don't see why, for a role like Lily's, if someone looks the part enough and can act it well enough, they'd go for a well-known actress. Lesser knowns don't get paid as much, WB would be doing themselves a favour.

Uwa Naoke Department of Mysteries | Huh? What!?! Noooooo!!!! Ok, Luna Lovegood HAS to be in the movei! She is important! I mean my goodness!!!!GIR! And if they arent sure she is gonna be in the movie then even if she is that last scene with her and Harry the really good one and in my opinion extremely important probably wont be in it and what about the Department of Mysteries!!!! OMF!!!! I swear I will protest if she is cut from the films! I swear.....! This will drive me....well already has driven me mad!!! Completely nutters!Completely! And I really wish they would do open casting calls....of course its not like it would matter they dont do them in America any old who........which really sorta kinda ucks....but I think thye should. It would be really spiffing if they did! But they wont.....I should move to England today rather than wait till Im 18 or 19...... But really if Luna is NOT in the movie I will freak right out!!! Although I already sorta kinda am.... |

Luna and Tonks must stay in....especially because they will be important to the septology. They cannot cut someone important to the final two books.

What the? LUNA LOVEGOOD MAY NOT MAKE IT IN THE SCRIPT?
If she doesn't I will sign a petition against that and I will boycott the films.

lol at the thought of cutting Luna. OoTP doesn't exactly float w/o her. Who would publish Harry's story? lol As long as i don't hear any nonsense about cutting Snape out of a movie...the director, producers, and Warner Brothers can sleep easy at night.
