Apple reports that audio technicians working on 'Order of the Phoenix' recently visited Cornell University's Macaulay Library looking for 'some very specific bird sounds' to be used in the film.
The Macaulay Library has been capturing and maintaining natural sounds since the early 1920s, and includes audio and video recordings of birds, insects, fish, frogs, and mammals.
I don't think they need bird sounds for Fawkes or Buckbeak. Wouldn't they have them already? I think it will most likely be the thestrals or, yeah, it could be just for the background.

Hehe, I too wish I could make a convincing bird noise!!! I have no idea why they would need the sound effect. If it is indeed just for background noise, why would they need to get something so obscure? Would we really be able to tell the difference?!?
