| | |  Official: US Deathly Hallows to be 784 pages long
In a press release today Scholastic have announced that the US edition of Deathly Hallows will be 784 pages long and will be printed on paper that "contains a minimum of 30% post-consumer waste fiber". Quote:
Moreover, 65% of the 16,700 tons of paper used in the U.S.
first printing will be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the global standard-setter for responsible forest management. This historic commitment is the largest purchase of FSC certified paper to be used in the printing of a single book title.
In addition, the company announced that the deluxe edition of the book (100,000 copies) will be printed on text paper that is FSC certified and contains 100% post-consumer waste fiber. All jackets will be FSC certified and contain 30% post consumer waste and will be manufactured using energy generated from wind power. For future printings of all books in the Harry
Potter series, Scholastic plans to use paper with a minimum content of 30% pcw, and that is FSC certified when available.
This means the book will be shorter than Order of the Phoenix (870 pages), but longer than Half-Blood Prince (652 pages).

Holy dude. That rocks! I was so hoping it would be around the size of HBP. OOTP was really too long (imo) so I'm glad this is shorter. 784 pages is PERFECT!  | |

Oh I must say, I'm very excited! Personally, I would have liked to have something as big as Order of the Pheonix! Or bigger!  OotP was big! But I know this is how it is supposed to be. This is how JK wants to do it, then OK, we can take it! At least it will be longer than Half-Blood Prince!
I remember just after HBP came out, I had just finisehd adn someone told me that DH (of course we didn't know the name at the time) was going to be so big it would be 2 books!! I didn't believe it then! I wish it was that long though!
And that is great that they are thinking of the environment!
