I think that you answered it yourself. It is all subjective, you may not like him, but then there are people like myself who do.

JKR is not going to let them do anything to the story line that is detrimental to the plot of the story. So Most likely Luna will be in it especially since it is her dad's newspaper that has the exclusive interview with Harry. JKR is not going to let them butcher her book. I know that there has been things that have been left out of the movies before but it really wasn't that serious of a grievance. Besides the book readers have the better end of it anyway more detail and our own imagination.


Oh and Gary does need to be recast. He was a great Sirius. Looks are fleeting and beauty deceitful. He has been in Azkaban a good part of his life what do you expect him to look like America's next top model. Come on people give the guy a break. Let me see what you look like after 12 years in Alcatraz.

They really need to keep the same leading roles because they are supossed to get older not stay 11 forever. They also really need Looney Luna in there too, it would not make sense without her.

It is my hope that the trio stays in place for all the movies. Tobey McGuire was 27 when he did Spiderman and there a host of other "older" actors who perform teen roles.

I totally agree...as a matter of fact, most tv shows (and I know, movies are different, but still...) have actors that are much older then the characters they play. I think when Dawson's Creek came out, they were supposed to be in ninth grade, but where all in their 20's! I think that if they canned the actors on the pretext of age it would kill the movies and a good majority of the fanbase, since tons of people only watch the movies not read the books.

I agree that Sirius should be played by Johnny Depp. The dude who plays him now doesn't even look like he used to be hot. Johnny Depp has that older, dangerous, rugged look (like in pirates of the carribean) that i think would be perfect for sirius.

Johnny Depp is not British and is too commercial, not to mention, too busy to do OotP!

They can't get rid of Dan, Rupert, and Emma who cares if they look too old. Some people do look like they are older than their actual age and I'm sure they can make them look younger. When I was looking through GOF pictures earlier this year I saw one picture that I thought was from the first film, so if I thought they looked younger they can definitely be made to look younger.
I hope they never get rid of Gary either, which I doubt they will because he isn't growing up lol, he's the perfect Sirius.
