| | | Official 'Goblet of Fire' production notes released
The WB press site has been updated with the production notes, end credits and main credits for the ' Goblet of Fire' film.
These notes include LOADS of new information about the movie and quotes from the cast and crew. Therefore be warned there are probably spoilers amongst them. Quote:
There is a method to Moody’s madness, though his irreverent brand of tough love often terrifies his students and draws criticism from his peers. “What appealed to me about the character,” says Gleeson thoughtfully, “is that he reminds me of some of my old teachers. He has no time for book learning. He wants to show these young men and women what they’re up against – evil exists and they better know what they’re getting themselves into. He’s a one-man initiation ceremony, a walking rite-of-passage. He doesn’t believe in treading lightly with Harry or the other students because that won’t prepare them for the real world.”
Quote:
“It’s quite hard to play someone who is is the essence of evil,” muses Ralph Fiennes. “In my discussions with Mike about the character, we talked about giving Voldemort human qualities, because to just play ‘evil’ is really impossible. ‘Evil’ is often conveyed through gnashing of teeth and a lot of spit. I wanted my portrayal of Voldemort to be deeply, truly evil. That comes from fear, frustration and unhappiness. Voldemort was a rejected child. He had a very unhappy childhood, and that’s where his anger, jealousy and hatred began to fester.”
“Mike was very keen to explore Voldemort’s unexpected mood swings, his explosive rage,” Fiennes says. “There are moments when anger spits out of him at Harry and other moments when he can be almost pleasant. You never quite know what he’s going to do.
“People are incredibly scary when they’re charming but you suspect they might suddenly do something very violent,” he continues. “If you sit across the table from someone who offers you a glass of wine and a present, but you know that he stabbed his wife to death, it’s quite unnerving.”
The end credits confirm that previously released titles; 'Do the Hippogriff', 'This is the Night' and 'Magic works' are songs written by the 'Weird Sisters' aka Jarvis Cocker & Radiohead.
The end credits also note that "NO DRAGONS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS MOVIE."

I love the end credits with the dragon thing. LOL
And what I love more is the acknowledgement of Ron and Hermione. Everyone. I was a bit worried with all the H/Hr crap we've been seeing, but they make it a point to talk about it in the production notes. Love it!
And Rupert loving his dress robes is too adorable! hehe

I laughted really much with Daniel and Mike's comments, lol
M:"Dan works so hard at absolutely everything, but it seems God did not necessarily mean for him to be a ballroom dancer. He is absolutely his character at that particular moment in the story!"
D:"It was terrifying. My parents are both very good dancers, but it seems to have skipped a generation. Everyone else had about three weeks to learn the steps, but because I was so busy filming other scenes, I only had four days. So I would get halfway through the steps and just lose it completely. Luckily, Harry’s not supposed to be a fantastic dancer."
M:"He wore a waistcoat every day, which I quite like because you don’t see enough waistcoats anymore, really".
Dan worked really hard, all those stunts he had to do and the underwater scenes.
Ralph: ""Daniel had to put up with a lot from me," Fiennes says with a chuckle. "Here’s a boy who’s tied up with a man pushing his finger into the wound on his head, laughing and delighting in the pain he’s causing. He had to act as though he was in agony and terror without having many words to say. I was full of admiration for him."
And...good to know that: "NO DRAGONS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS MOVIE" lol

I think in the books is says that he wasn't comfortable dancing, that is why he didn't dance more than once piece at the ball, and I do love Dan's comments he is so funny, I mean Ron is funny in the movies but in real life Dan is the funniest one!!
I love this one: Quote:
“Dan works so hard at absolutely everything, but it seems God did not necessarily mean for him to be a ballroom dancer. He is absolutely his character at that particular moment in the story!”
and Quote:
My parents are both very good dancers, but it seems to have skipped a generation.
I know Dan is not a bad dancer but one thing is to dance Ballroom and another is to dance pop or hip hop, I know for a fact he is a good dancer because of some girls who attended the after party premier in NY, they saw him dance with Emma and they said that he was good.
I also love Dan's comment about Mike's waistcoat!!
and the best quote from Fiennes is this one Quote:
“Daniel had to put up with a lot from me,” Fiennes says with a chuckle. “Here’s a boy who’s tied up with a man pushing his finger into the wound on his head, laughing and delighting in the pain he’s causing. He had to act as though he was in agony and terror without having many words to say. I was full of admiration for him.” wow Ralph praising Dan, that's it, I am officially a fan of Ralph Fiennes the guy knows his craft, he is one of the best actors out there. Dan is so lucky to work with a guy like that.
They also mentioned the Ron and Hermione interaction, but it looks like there is only one scene, which is then Ball, other than that there is not going to be more interaction between those two!

I love the dragon thing!! It's really funny!!! I think that I'm just now starting to realize how hard it was to play the role of evil. Not like an evil ghost; but just an evil person.

I always have thought it's more difficult to play good characters that evil ones.
Because how do you show you are a good person? But you can show you are evil only with a glance. |

And Rupert loving his dress robes is too adorable! hehe The Sun ran a feature on that Emma feature in Teen Vogue and even they twigged it was R/Hr. Finally!
I haven't had a chance to read all this. What struck me is how well the adults know their characters; in particular Miranda, Brendan and Ralph. The way they speak about them is spot on.
I printed it out so I'm going to go through it with a tooth comb later. I'm thinking it'll be a great bedtime read Quote:

It's never stated that he's bad but Harry doesn't like the attention and that combined with his nerves isn't good. I think Pavati has a go at him or something while they dance, can't quite remember. He's certainly not light on his feet! Quote:

If there wasn't then why would the production notes place such heavy emphasis on it?

At the TLC forum there is this girl who has watched the movie and she said that the only tension in the entire movie between Ron and Hermione was at the Yule Ball, and that's it. She said that it was like in the book.
She didn't notice any other scene were there was tension between those two.

To be fair that is the big R/Hr scene. It's when they all acknowledge their feelings for the first time, Harry included who then realises they like each other that way. It's good they put the most important shipping scene in there.
Different reports say different things. It's all down to interpretation. After all, some people see being scared and running away from a werewolf as romanticism.
