Nikki, 16, who has Down's Syndrome, is obsessed with the teen wizard and all things Hogwarts.
And the youngster was given a sprinkling of magic when the Make A Wish charity teamed up with film studio bosses to cast a special wish.
Nikki, of Broadway, Leyland, spent a magical day on the set of Harry Potter's Goblet of Fire, which is currently under production at Leavesden Studios. Quote: Nikki, who attends the Coppice School in Bamber Bridge, was born with Down's Syndrome and has a heart condition which affects her lungs. She suffered a stroke two years ago, but is now making good progress.
Quote: Dad Andy said: "They have constructed Hogwarts at the studios, so it was like walking around an actual real life place both indoors and out.
"All the rooms and the quidditch pitch were just awesome. We saw many of the new sets and creatures and they just took our breath away."
Quote: Nikki spent time in the costume department and had the chance to try on items such as the Sorting Hat from The Philosopher's Stone and a Gryffindor cloak.
But the highlight of the day was when Nikki laid eyes on actor Daniel Radcliffe, who plays her hero Harry.
Quote: Andy recalled: "We were taken into the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom and when we walked in, Harry was sat at a desk at the front of the classroom with his back towards Nikki.
"Nikki did not realise he was there at first as she was having a good look around the classroom.
"Then he turned around and she caught his eye. I will never forget the expression on her face, she just froze.
"Then he got up and walked towards her and a massive smile broke out on her face and she shouted 'It's Harry Potter! Hiya Harry'.
"We all burst out laughing. It was absolutely wonderful. We have never seen her react with so much awe and excitement in our lives. It is a moment that will stay with us forever.
"When Harry started talking to her, she went shy and grabbed my arm, but he was great with her.
"He is an extremely nice, genuine down-to-earth young man."
Nikki was presented with her own Gryffindor cloak, along with other souvenirs. Mum Sue said: "Nikki had an unbelievable day and she has been chatting about it ever since. She genuinely believes in the world of Harry Potter and even more so now this amazing visit made it so real for her. Article from www.PrestonToday.net.

:flowersmile: Thank you for posting that story. It was really touching. It is so nice that they were able to do something like that for her. And it is great that Dan was so understanding and talked with her and everything. It must be really frustrating for him when people call him Harry and don't recognize that he is really Dan. But he went along with it and talked with her and made her dream come true. That's really cool to hear about all the sets too. Although I didn't realize that much was built on soundstages. I wonder if they did that with the other movies too. It seemed like alot of POA was really on site.

WOW how nice of the studio, Dan and the poeple who were involve in this, Dan is a great guy and he was very nice with this girl, lucky her that she was able to meet him and also had the chance to be at the studio.

Wow, what an amazing story, that is so wonderful! It's great for the charity to make her wish come true, and for Leavesden Studio to let her and her family look around too! Aww, Dan is so sweet, and how Nikki kept calling her Harry :sad: It brought tears to my eyes... I hope Nikki all the best, and I think Dan was just great, he's great, donates to all these charities and does appearences for special people...sigh, I just wish that there were more people in the world...
