| Yeah--very cool! They look much better in color...I hope she publishes a book with ALL of her drawings from Harry Potter...would it be too much to ask if they could come out with life-size posters of it too? I love the Mirror of Erised illustration. Is that out only in Japan? |

| | Guest | Wow, she really is an amazing artist.
That's one of the reasons I really prefer the American editions of the books to the British ones: she draws a full colour cover.
Beautiful work. | |

I really love the Mirror of Erised one, but the drawing from the Shrieking Shack is just scary.

I thought they were rather decent, though I always thought she drew Lupin as looking way too much older than he really is-shabby, not elderly is what Lupin is (the movie got it much better if you ask me,except for the little pseudo-moustache, i enver thought of Lupin having that, though David Thewlis did a great job anyway)
I rather like the Shrieking Shack one, as she finally draws Snape without that dreadful beard of his in PoA and OOtP (the chapter picture for "Occlumency" in that one, don't remember PoA)...here he looks more like a slightly younger Alan Rickman, which is always how I pictured Snape in the first place...(sort of funny how Alan Rickman is 58, I believe, and he's palying someone who, if you beleive the Harry Potter Lexicon or whichever site it is that has the timeline, is only about 36 or so...oh well, Rickman's really good at it)
Anyway...for the most part, thos epcitures are really good, except for the minor quibbles above, and the fact that Hermione always looks too frumpy, even for her. Can't wait until she makes some full-color ones for OOTP and other scenes from GoF, there's plenty I'd love to see...the Dept. of Mysteries, for one...

She draws Lupin like I would expect Moody to look. I don't like the way she drew James. Other than that, there beautiful.
