Mary GrandPre, the illustrator for the Harry Potter series, gave an interview to the Detroit Free Press about her career, Harry Potter, and her life/career post-Potter. Quote:
Mary, who lives in Sarasota, Florida, says she got the manuscript for Book Seven in January. That means she's known how the story ends for about six months. Is it hard to keep the secret? Do friends, family members or kids at bookstore signings press her for details? "Not really so much," Mary says. "I think people just know that I can't talk about it."

One question Mary does get a lot is: "Who's your favorite character?"
"Besides Harry, I would say Hagrid is my favorite character," Mary says. In fact, Mary has a dog named Chopper that reminds her of Hagrid. He's a doggie mix: part St. Bernard, part collie, part lab. "He's a big, wonderful, lovable mutt," Mary says. He's also her real-life inspiration for the loveable giant, Hagrid.

That's so cool!  you know, if you think about it, Hagrid does sort of remind you of a big fluffy dog doesn't he? "C'mere Hagrid! Here boy!!"   Just a thought....about Hagrid's patronus, it wouldn't happen to be a dog would it??? we'll never know since the snapped off his wand....
