| | | New HBP Deluxe Edition Cover art
Scholastic have released a brand new piece of artwork for the Deluxe Edition of ' Half-Blood Prince'. Cover Art for the HBP Deluxe Edition
A hi-res version of the image can be viewed here. Quote:
"In this spectacular artwork for the Deluxe Edition, layers of mystery unfold in a forested glen, where we find Harry Potter and Dumbledore peering through dense branches," said David Saylor, Vice President, Creative Director, Scholastic. "Once again, Mary GrandPre's mysterious artwork beautifully features an eerie scene that tantalizes the reader with hints from the soon- to-be released, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."
This edition book will be available from July 16th 2005.

So... what guess should we wager? The forbidden forrest? And if so, I wonder why they'd be in there...

Definitely the forest I'd say. The bigger question is why.
The forest is always 'out-of-bounds' and is said to be dangerous, which was why it puzzled me when Dumbledore allowed 11 year-olds to serve a detention in there. Maybe the danger thing is a conspiracy, maybe the order is hiding something there. Maybe the Centaurs are protecting it and that's why they're so hostile to outsiders. It's just always struck me as odd that it's supposed to be dangerous yet kids were allowed in there, albeit under adult supervision, but still. It's odd.
When did we last see the Weasley car? Perhaps they're paying that a visit. Or maybe they're visiting Aragog. Aren't we meant to see more of him? (Although Spinners End, if you ask me, is too early to be back at Hogwarts so this could be in a different HBP chapter.)

I totally forgot about the Weasley car. lol But as to why they're going in there....you're guess is as good as mine. Hmmmm I want that book too! I like the cover! lol They went in the forest the first year right? Wasn't Dumbledore trying to give harry a chance to kinda face off against Voldie? lol

That is something I oftened wondered too. If it's such a dangerous plus, why allow them to serve detention there? Even if it was with someone like Hagrid... Hagrid did let them go off by themselves without any supervision.
Aragog? The part of me that is deathly afraid of spiders is hoping not. LOL But the part of me that is curious as to what he could be of further use for is intriguing me to have him come back...
I would choose to think that if it's the Forbbiden Forrest, then what could possible be in there that Dumbledore would take Harry? I hate to think it's something so simple that they go looking for Aragog, or the car, LOL, or anything like that... I like the idea of the graveyard being in there. In a part of the forrest that has yet to be explored...

Obviously, this implies the Forbidden Forest, which really shouldn't surprise any of us, as Harry has either gone into the forest or has been in close proximity of it in every book. We just have to ask why...

Not enough hints for me! It just drives me crazy! I agree though, the Forbidden Forest seems likely. What are they there for? Ugh!! July!!! Where are you July!?!

The use of the word 'glen' confirms it's definitely a forest at Hogwarts. Glen is a phrase used in relation to Scotland alot and we all know that's Hogwarts home.
I like the idea of the graveyard or even a memorial stone or something but it has been confirmed that Aragog is back so it's probably to do with that. Quote:

*shudders* What is with JKR and the spiders? LOL I think SS/PS is the only book without them. Quote:

That's what I thought too. But I can see how the drawing would make someone think it's night garment of some sort...

Stretching this a bit, but if Harry is in his night robes, maybe he had another 'dream' and is leading Dumbledore to it's 'source'...

I thought a glen was a valley, especially a secluded valley. I mean, the term definitely comes from Scotland (Gaelic), but I was almost positive that it's a valley, not a forest. I know that there are glens in the forest, I just didn't realize...okay, we can be sure at least that it's most likely in Scotland, right?

ooooh, pretty.
And again with the Harry-Dumbledore centric theme.
Could it be someplace we haven't seen yet that Dumbledore is taking Harry to?
It may (probably) be a long shot, but we know that the house the Potters lived in was destroyed, but has it been said if all of Godric's Hollow was, or where Godric's Hollow is located for that matter?

Hm I still think that it could have something to do with the graveyard...
Or maybe it's some scene from the pensieve...Dumbledore could be with Harry...
Gah!

What fence? What knife? I don't see those two things.
It looks as if Dumbledore is pointing something out to Harry and Harry is not exactly upset about what he's seeing - almost looks like he's smiling about it.
Maybe they are going to see Grawp who is better behaved now.
