New parts of the UK childrens ' Half-Blood Prince' cover art have been revealed in an extended look at the image.
This shows that the fire encasing the headmaster and Harry, does come from Dumbledore's wand.

This light is at the tip of Harry's wand...err...Lumos perhaps? But is something at Dumbledore's feet?

So Dumbledore's wand is the one with the fire it looks like... I wonder what the fire does? Protection?
The light at the bottom... that's someone's flash. LOL Because that would make Harry have two wands. The one by the fire, and the one where the flash is.

The fire is coming from Dumbledore not Harry.
Edit: Harry is holding a knife in his right hand not a wand. His wand is in the left hand but twisted at an awkward angle pointed at the ground. The light shows something at Dumbledore's feet.

That rod thing is in Harry's left hand, his wand is in his right and is pointing upward. The thing below looks more like a staff to me, because it's longish. I wish we had a hi-res version. That could be the knife from the Deluxe Edition cover. Quote:

LOL That's a camera flash. Seriously. Go take a picture that shiny with your camera flash on and see if it does that. Especially digicams. Plus nothing else is that shiny, not even the fire, so why would *that* have a glare to it? And look underneath. That looks like some sort of carpet underneath. Someone took a picture of it.
Also if you look at what HP Fan Zone says, a reader sent it in. It's definitely a picture of the promotional card.

No, it wouldn't. Besides, the flash is sort of cut off. I did take a picture of the cardboard standee I have of Aragorn, and it did the same thing as this picture. The same type of flash... it's definitely a flash from a camera hitting the cardboard. Heh. Someone needs to actually scan the image because it would clear up a lot and not confuse everyone.

Cool!! If you look at this close up of the area just to the right of the flash, you can see something that looks like a human/elf/dwarf/creature/thinggy. It looks like 'its' wearing a hat and has 'its' hands cupped infrount of it. Hum...

omg! revelation moment!
ok-so this picture got me thinking about the ss banner up on top ^ and i looked at it and for some strange reason i thought of fawkes. So...fawkes+hbp=fawkes is the hbp? well that doesn't sound right, but just think about it. We're looking for a prince...well? a prince of what? Can't be wizards, but maybe...maybe it's the prince of the giants? prince of the phoenixes? prince of the kneazles? house elves? that's where the possibilities lie! I don't think the prince is a person at all-i think it's a thing. Quite possibly the thing under dumbledore.
as for the light...i'm drawing a blank.
