A new ' Goblet of Fire' video can now be seen. It features a new scene with Capoeira Dancers and shows some students in the Great Hall. You can also hear several scenes being directed.

I turned up the volume to listen to the directions and they're funny.
"Breather out, clear your ears ... annnd ... action! Mermaids ... growl ... puzzlement ... they back away ... SHARK!"
The classroom one is kinda funny too because it looks like Rupert is laughing about something and the director (I assume) is saying things like, "Be professional. Acting means acting remember. That means energy and attention. Don't drift off. Settle please." Then it cuts to Emma who, unlike Dan and Rupert, looks completely poised, ready and professional, very Hermione in a way.
After Dan jumps he says something like, "Doing that would really hurt, wouldn't it?" and when he's dancing with the Parvati actress, she says something about something moving and he replies, "They don't move, you're being paranoid."
Oh and in the first task clip, it looks like that could be Dennis Creevey next to Ron. His banner looks like it has Harry's name on it and is red and yellow.

It wasn't in the book no. It's meant to show school rivalry, they're showing off their skills. To me, it looks alot more interesting visually than having them walk in, sit down and just eat.
