New Deathly Hallows footage to air during Japan's Harry Potter countdown event Warner Bros international have confirmed to SnitchSeeker that on August 11, 2010, several theatres across Japan will be featuring a marathon of the first six Harry Potter films, as well as an exclusive preview to Deathly Hallows. The Harry Potter countdown event will take place in theatres in the cities of Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo, with the chance for fans who sign up to get free giveaways as well as watch the movie marathon and sneak preview. Fans in Japan interested in signing up for the event can do so at this link. If anyone from Japan is able to capture the new Deathly Hallows footage, feel free to send it in! |
Ooh! That's such a good idea! A HP marathon! I've had one of those! :D And new DH footage! Wow! I want to see the footage! August 11! Wow! That's quick! Wish i was in Japan instead of halfway around the world from there! :( Good on whoever manages to go! Hope you have fun! |
Lucky Japanese! I hope they do something like this in the US, because I would most definitely try it out. ^_^ They did something like that for LOTR in December 2003: the day before the release of the final film, this theater near me had a day-long marathon of the previous two films before releasing the third film at midnight. |
Nice... but does anyone know when/if they're going to release the footage that they previewed at Comic-con? |

It will probably be the same old footage. |
Interesting idea. I love Harry Potter, but I don't think I would go to a movie marathon. That would be so long! I couldn't take it after awhile. They must be planning on having a meal or something, unless they expect all those people to survive on popcorn and soda for an entire day. I don't know if they'll let people tape the new footage. It is a movie theater, after all, so you can't just bring in a camera. Video captured over a cell phone is bound to be pretty poor quality. Oh well. Here's hoping that someone gets a good tape of it! |
I'm not even going to get my hopes up. After what happened with the Comic-con footage never getting leaked or released, I doubt this has a better chance of that happening. |
Oh HP Marathon! Nice i would love to go! if i was in Japan, teehee :D |
i would never go to a movie marathon...when you have the discs on Blu Ray...a decent sized TV....you could save the cash and eat what you want :) |
Ah not fair! Doubled! It would be SO cool to watch HP in Japan XD |
There's no way I could sit through all six movies in a row ... the Rupert overload would do it I think ... and the popcorn, not a good combination, I'd be jumping off the walls through Goblet of Fire and sleeping by the middle of Half Blood Prince. |
Cool! |
Oh!! Cool. We will be very lucky if we get any footage at all. I'm in Scotland, probably cinemas will never do marathons here. |
cool! |
Cool! |
The US should take up the idea. =) It would be a fantastic way for fans to meet, and have fun in their own home town! Pick a theatre group (Like Regal, or Edwards) and have a Harry Potter Marathon Day around the country! Can you imagine how much fun it would be? We could see which town is the craziest! =) |
[QUOTE=princess of*hp*;9622543]Lucky Japanese! I hope they do something like this in the US, because I would most definitely try it out. ^_^ I agree with this!!! WB needs to step it up in the States!!! |
