| | |  New contest on Project Ferret
Project Ferret is at it again!
To celebrate the beginning of its fourth year of existence, Project Ferret is holding an anniversary celebration and contest.
Qualified writers (you must join the site and provide proof that you write reasonably well, understand syntax, punctuation and so forth) will be asked to compete in the collaborative story writing contest which starts Saturday, December 9th, 2006.
A challenge will be issued, the parameters specified, and the members will vote for their favourite among the submitted entries. Each Round winner will receive their choice from the prizes shown in the official announcement, and that winning story will be the basis for the next Round of writing the following week. There will be three Rounds, with the final voting ending on December 29th, 2006.
You say you aren't up for writing? Then join at the Stoat level. Stoats can read and comment on the stories submitted, and vote for favourites, which also makes them eligible to win a Harry Potter Journal at the end of the competition.
Project Ferret grew from a fan fiction writing contest at Snitch Seeker in 2003. The founding members enjoyed the collaborative nature of that competition and went on to create a site where people could continue to assist each other and grow in their writing skills. It is a friendly community of Harry Potter fans, a place to chat and feel comfortable. The site guards its “general audience” rating-level, insuring no bad language or adult situations in any of the writing there.
