| | |  New Burrow scene added in Half-Blood Prince, Australian release date confirmed
In an interview with Australia's Herald Sun, producer David Barron admitted that a new scene - which was not written in the sixth book - has been added for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film.
David explains the scene - which takes place at the Burrow - without giving too much away: Quote:
"But this was brought in because Jo (Rowling) was able throughout the quite lengthy book to keep dropping little snippets of what was happening in the outside world - there'd be people reading newspapers and talking about how somebody's parents had been killed, or somebody had been withdrawn from school because their parents didn't think it was safe.
And we're making aware that the Muggle world is also experiencing these disasters, but thinks they are disasters rather than the work of Voldemort.
The book is peppered with those moments, but we couldn't do that quite so easily in the film.
So (the extra scene) comes in the middle of the film and it just reminds us the world is no longer a safe place. Even in what would normally be considered the safe haven of the Burrow, nobody's safe.
I think you'll like it. It's quite effective."

Mmm I dunno 'bout this. Considering HBP is my favorite out of the 7 books, I wouldn't want the movie to be so diverted from the original story. And i definitely don't want Phlegm to be omitted from it either! I'd prefer seeing Fleur than this added new scene (that's somehow not very important). |

I don't know how I feel about it yet, I really wish they would have stuck to the books. But I guess it'll be good just like the movies. I mean after all the movies is what got me to read the books. | |

I think it was a great idea, and hopefully it makes the movie longer because the longer the movie, i think that the more it stays stuck in your head. I think I'm going to re-read the series a third to time to freshen up on everything that happened in the series. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO WITH FRIENDS TO SEE THE 6TH MOVIE!!!!!! IT WILL BE THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE!!!! | |

Well the movie cannot be 7 hours long and they have to use creative/artistic ways to get a point across quickly in a movie. If a scene with the characters we all know and love can tie up an idea in the movie AND JK herself approves, i would not have a problem. | |

I usually worry about new scenes and things that don't happen in the book but it sounds quite good and hopefully Julie Walters will be in it, she is an amazing actress. | |

Yeah...that sounds pretty good. I actually kept that article from the Herald Sun. It had a picture of Rupert Grint attached...well the one I read did anyway.
At first I thought that it's such a logn book already, how are they going to add scenes that aren't in the book without cutting out other things as well? But it sounds okay now. I just can't wait! I have to wait until December 11th to watch it  | |

Sorry to dissapoint evryone but I'm seriously worried about this film. I personlly think that it was the worst book and the fact that people are getting cut, imagine number 7 and 8 ( the two book 7 movies). But as we have seen before ( in movie 4), extra scenes can work | |
