| | |  New Burrow scene added in Half-Blood Prince, Australian release date confirmed
In an interview with Australia's Herald Sun, producer David Barron admitted that a new scene - which was not written in the sixth book - has been added for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film.
David explains the scene - which takes place at the Burrow - without giving too much away: Quote:
"But this was brought in because Jo (Rowling) was able throughout the quite lengthy book to keep dropping little snippets of what was happening in the outside world - there'd be people reading newspapers and talking about how somebody's parents had been killed, or somebody had been withdrawn from school because their parents didn't think it was safe.
And we're making aware that the Muggle world is also experiencing these disasters, but thinks they are disasters rather than the work of Voldemort.
The book is peppered with those moments, but we couldn't do that quite so easily in the film.
So (the extra scene) comes in the middle of the film and it just reminds us the world is no longer a safe place. Even in what would normally be considered the safe haven of the Burrow, nobody's safe.
I think you'll like it. It's quite effective."

I dont agree with any of you i think its a really bad idea. They cant add something into a story thats already been written its rediculous. It best be bloody short cause theyll be cutting something important out by doing that.
Like in the OOTP fil, they didnt explain anything at the end and I thought that was a really important bit.

As long as it doesn't require anything from the book to be cut out, I think I'll like it, too. Them cutting some of the parts I really, really like in the books out of the movies is the main problem I have with the movies. Either way, can't wait for HPB to come out!!!

I'm glad they want to keep in that sense of constant foreboding, because otherwise it might tend to get too lighthearted. Then the dramatic ending would seem to come out of nowhere. | |
