| | |  "National Geographic" knows its Herbology
This month’s edition of 'National Geographic' included an article on plants of the Wizarding World in its Science section. Did you know that some of the plants at Hogwarts have been largely influenced by plants we find on Earth? A few examples are Mandrake, Wormwood and Aconite!

This is AWESOME. I never even gave it a thought that some of the plants {like mandrakes} were real, and I never really explored the meaning behind the common ones, like holly, that were mentioned. Very cool! | |

Oh man I love the National Geographic hahaha [nerd]
But its so true, back in like the Salem Witch Trials, simple docters and nurses who used mandrakes and ginger were accused of being witch's. Because the root stems out at the bottom like 2 legs, creating the appearance of a child!
hehe. YAY
