Mugglenet HBP book cover contest winners announced - and pictures of the designs

Mugglenet recently ran a competition for fans to design a cover for the upcoming HP book "Half Blood Prince" and now the winners have been announced.

The following people are the top five finishers in Mugglenet's Half Blood Prince Cover Design Contest:


1st place: Vicki - The cover features a red/black design with Harry centered, a man that looks to be Voldemort to the left, a door below and creatures to the right.

2nd place: Michael Fieser - This cover has a design for the folds inside the book, the front and back cover. The background looks like parchment, a crown is centered on the page and the title is written in italics. The designer also included a bit of storyline on the folds.

It also features HP logos throughout and a list of the previous novels on the back of the cover.

3rd place: Laura Adkins - This design features a fireplace, with a mysterious shadow above and a bewildered looking Harry to the left.

4th place: Kaylen - This cover looks very much like the other HP novels in UK edition. The background is purple and lilac and Harry is sprawled across the floor in front of an opened wooden door. Columns either side have snakes twisted around them and a mysterious wizard, shadowed, stands to the right, looking away from Harry.

5th place: qshark777 - The background to this cover looks like the night sky. It uses Mary Grandpre's version of Harry, who is looking at a crown which has green orbs on the spikes and a snake twirled around it's base.

Well done to all the winners, not just for winning but for also compromising such fantastic designs.
