 Mugglenet HBP book cover contest winners announced - and pictures of the designs Summary:
Mugglenet recently ran a competition for fans to design a cover for the upcoming HP book "Half Blood Prince" and now the winners have been announced. Article: Mugglenet HBP book cover contest winners announced
The following people are the top five finishers in Mugglenet's Half Blood Prince Cover Design Contest:
1st place: Vicki - The cover features a red/black design with Harry centered, a man that looks to be Voldemort to the left, a door below and creatures to the right.
2nd place: Michael Fieser - This cover has a design for the folds inside the book, the front and back cover. The background looks like parchment, a crown is centered on the page and the title is written in italics. The designer also included a bit of storyline on the folds.
It reads: Quote: All is not bad though, because the newest Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is none other than Order of the Phoenix member and Auror, Nymphadora Tonks. It also features HP logos throughout and a list of the previous novels on the back of the cover.
3rd place: Laura Adkins - This design features a fireplace, with a mysterious shadow above and a bewildered looking Harry to the left.
4th place: Kaylen - This cover looks very much like the other HP novels in UK edition. The background is purple and lilac and Harry is sprawled across the floor in front of an opened wooden door. Columns either side have snakes twisted around them and a mysterious wizard, shadowed, stands to the right, looking away from Harry.
5th place: qshark777 - The background to this cover looks like the night sky. It uses Mary Grandpre's version of Harry, who is looking at a crown which has green orbs on the spikes and a snake twirled around it's base.
Well done to all the winners, not just for winning but for also compromising such fantastic designs.

ah thats cool, a few weeks ago i was looking at the pics. i voted but i dont remember for which ones lol but theyre all great congrats to the winners! and yes, 1st post!
edit oh i think i voted for #three... the one that won. i liked that one a lot.

I was on Mugglenet earlier looking at them, and they are all absolutely gorgeous. Any of them could be the cover for the next book, and I'd be happy. Nice job to all the winners!!

WOW! I saw the pics a couple of weeks ago and if I'm not wrong I think I voted for the second placed book cover. That one was my favorite one then, but now I think they're all GOOD!  | |

Cool! they picked my favorite one!!!! and i do think that it is a possibility that tonks will be the next DADA teach.....

Those were really fantastic! I think the first-place winner looked a lot like the US version, and the second-place winner seemed like an actual cover to an already published Harry Potter novel. They were all so incredible, though! Great job to the creators! | |

YAY!!! they were all great but i loved the one that won!! yayay!! hehhehe.. (sorry im excited!! this means that the books gonna come soon doesnt it ?! yay!!) so does the US and the UK and everywhere else have the same cover thingies? because how would they only pick one winner :ermsmile: ???

Yay! I voted for the one that won... I liked it alot and since all the other covers indicate something in the story and we dont know much about book 6 it really doesn't show alot of pictures that might not coincide with the book... Maybe I'm being too picky anyway I liked the one that got fourth -i think- the one with harry looking at the crown with the snake... but we dont know that the hbp has to do with slytherin though...
All the covers were wonderful though... nice job to all the winners!

(I'm pretty sure b/c its not stated anywhere that it was for the actual book)

I really liked the one that came first. The person who did it is such a great artist. I think it is the best. The second one was a bit plain.
