 More Rumors on "Potter Encylopedia" - More rumors on possible 8th book Summary:
Contactmusic.com reports that JKR is thinking about writing a possible 8th book after the final installment of the septology is released. Article:
Contactmusic.com is reporting that JKR is thinking about writing an 8th book on Harry Potter, after the final installment of the septology is released. This would be a book of "outtakes" that were cut from the first seven, and that the proceeds from the book would be donated to charity. Quote: publishers estimate the "Harry Potter Encyclopedia" could make in excess of $18 million (GBP10 million). It should be noted that this article should be taken with a grain of salt, as they also report that JKR is contemplating retirement after finishing the series. She has previously stated that she will not be writing any more Harry Potters, but might look into writing adult fiction instead.

 I wouldn't mind knowing the stuff she left out... there must be some real interesting character info she had to leave out because of book length...and you can imagine what else! :sorcerer:

It would be really cool to have such a book, but I somehow doubt, that she'll write it. I think it's just a rumour. (But it would still be cool )

I submitted a news story similar to this yesterday, it was mentioned in the Sun newspaper that a possible encylopedia may be in the making. She has definately thought about it, and I feel it is a really good idea because it may tie up some loose ends, and answer some questions that many of us may have after publication of the septology.

it would be cool if it was for comic relief of children in need but i wouldnt mind not knowing about stuff that was cut from the books :sorcerer:

I heard on television news that she will do an 8th book and that it will be an encyclopedia and all proceeds will be donated to a charity. That is all I heard so far about the 8th book. It would be nice to read about the outakes, but in a way too bad it is not another HP story. :sorcerer:

As for another HP book, that would be nice but HP can't go on forever, so I am pleased that we all know there will only be 7 books because I find thats the whole excitement of it, knowing that we have two more to go, but also knowing that we, eventually in a few years know the outcome of how it is all going to end.
I am hoping however, she continues writing - maybe start something else with a completely different theme; that would be interesting!

It would be cool though to read about things, like Dean Thomas and stuff about characters that she couldn't go into too much detail in the actually books 'cos she had to make way for the main themes and stories about Harry Potter. And to let the money go to charity is so great of her, she's an inspiration to all of us,  | |

An encylopedia.. that'd be pretty neat. I'd rather she wrote things in story form, but I would definitely still buy this the day it came out.
JK said that she had a whole childhood worked out for Sirius... I wish she'd publish that! I would camp out for a week to get a copy of it!

yeah well i hope it does happen.. my mum told me this arvo that she saw it on the news . . . so thats good news i think . . . :/ but then again could be bad reporting. . . . . oh well.. i can only say that i hope she does!!

An 8th book?? Sounds interesting!! I would love to know all the things JK left out. She is an incredible writer and I would say that whatever the 8th book is (wheather it's like an addition ..like life after Hogwarts or an encyclopedia) it should be great!! | |
